Just a reminder
Got these this morning. Never really had a problem in my area. I've been playing this game since 2014 and only came across maybe 4/5 bad cards including these 2.

Shite. Alb affiliations? Did you liquidate successfully? All you need is swiping. You don’t need card number long as mag is working.

Safeway. No, I opened the packages in the parking lot and went right back in the store and told the manger. They faxed the paperwork (cards/receipt) for me. I was thinking about converting them to GD's at WM but didn't know if I would see a friendly face. Lot's of new faces this past year.

I am going to pump the brake for a bit. I remember I went to liquidate GCs a couple of months ago and there was a teenager talking to the store manager that he bought a uber GC and the code was unable to load to his account. After helping me out, the manager checked that guy's phone and refunded the guy with cash. Then he stapled the tampered card and receipt and put them in the drawer. That was nice but I doubt manager would do it if its $1K.

Go easy on me about this please...
Although I know the FT party line is to liquidate ASAP, I can't always accomplish that. (It's actually gotten harder and harder. My local Wallys are cracking down.) So for my protection, I am in the habit of changing the PIN and registering all of the gift cards I purchase. This is really quick to do on Metabank's VGC and MCGC websites.
I was in a local Albertson's today because grocery stores are a 5x category on the Chase Freedom card this quarter. Alas, all of my favorite Metabank VGCs and MCGCs are gone. They've been replaced with Vanillas and Secure Spend cards. So I purchased a Secure Spend.
Is there a way to register Vanilla cards and/or Secure Spend cards? (I tried, but couldn't log in on the securespend.com website today - I kept getting a system error.)

Vanillas can’t be registered…just pin changed. Very strange on InComm part. Yes Albertsons, Vons, Safeway have ditched BHN cards for InComm Vanillas since Dec 2021 with Sutton Bank and MB. This is a good thing since MB card from BHN were blocked at Walmart for >$99 swipe. The InComm MB SS and Sutton Bank cards have no restrictions at Walmart. This is a win for MSers IMHO.
Nevertheless……fraud can happen with Vanillas so don’t hold onto them too long. InComm is not very friendly for replacing $$$ lost to fraud on Vanillas….makes it difficult to resolve issues. Like kingscross said…..Secure Spend is marketing.

Barcode over barcode
Guy, after opening my gift card, a barcode was on top of the original. So watch out out there. Had to report it.

Seems that Safeway rewards are no longer applying to giftcard purchases plus groceries. I've tested on a couple of accounts and only the grocery amount is being applied. Would like to hear more DPs.
