[QUOTE=BenCali;27798369]For Sap Reserve I am getting the same error msg for the past two days at NorCal for OVG. Called Chase CSR and they said it's all clear from their end.

I went to another CVS and it worked fine this time.

The memo's info is still valid. If you are really interested in the blow-by-blow details, that sad episode in MS history starts in this thread at #5777.

How is it that for the last 2+ years the hard coding in the memo is not in effect in many stores?

because it only applies to reloadable cards as shown in the memo. The VGC's aren't reloadable, only single use, but hey if you don't believe the WIKI feel free to try for yourself.

I buy pp $500 all the time, but the memo in 2014 said " moving to cash"

If you're able to load reloadable cards, contrary to the wording in the memo of this post, and you actually live on the 'left coast' then I would highly advise keeping some zipped lips ;)

If you mean the blue Paypal mycash cards (one you load to your paypal account or to paypal debit card) they have been allowed, if you are referring to the paypal prepaid debit that you have to register and pay a monthly fee then that is something different.

PPMC are not the PP ones mentioned in the memo.

How much Cash you think CVS lost in FB deal?Assuming all the people who took advantage of it(did high volume) are on FT.

not more than $500K. I am not sure if that's drop in the bucket for CVS profit. That's how much money MSers wrecked which will be passed down to regular folks who purchase stuff from CVS.

Considering this has been going on since when, August? It could very well be significantly more than $500k. I only participated for the last 2-3 weeks and took great advantage of it :)

We have no idea how big the long tail distribution of abusers really is. Not everyone who did this participates or reads FT, and many regular folks probably took advantage when buying prescriptions.

The heavy hitters like myself profited $5-6k+ each in the past 3-4 months, and you figure there are probably 5 people like that at least in every medium sized city. That doesn't count the non MSers.

CVS is generally overpriced vs Walmart or large chain grocery stores, so I'm not sure why anyone would be motivated to shop there with just 5% off.

Just bought 4 x $500 OV's from CVS, and apparently 1 from a million years ago got mixed in, and says it has no pin number. Am I screwed? That'll teach me to pay more attention I guess...

this is true but there are MSers who are also couponers who learned from the now defunct extreme couponers show how to stack ECBs with mfr coupons to pay pennies on the dollar for their items.

There are other opportunities as well. My Rx insurance is thru CVS which gives me a special ExtraCare card that gives 20% off CVS branded merchandise. Works great for getting cheap saline solution for my contacts. I've also gotten lucky great coupons thru ExtraCare for things like deodorant almost every time I go to pick up a prescription
