Huh?
Matching those numbers requires opening the package -- thus can't be done prior to purchasing.

I made a mo out of it so I guess it was fine. My old cards are stored in a box somewhere in the garage so I didn't have one to compare it to. And yeah you have to open the packaging to see the 9-digit code on the back of the card. The packaging didn't appear to be tampered with either.

It's truly amazing how everyone's experiences are so wildly different at the same company.

My two CVS just take the cards and don't mention anything. My only concern is the CB not posting and Simon saying that it shouldn't because CVS is no longer in the program.

However, I'm going to go through 1/20 just to see what happens.

That's nothing new. The experiences are wildly different even in the same area of the city. I have one CVS in a posh area that's cash only. Been that way for 2-3 years. Another 2 just stopped allowed split payments, one citing "federal regulations" and another "company policy". The rest don't seem to care.

Yeah me too that is run cards on the 20th as well. Worst cast I give back 4x$4.95 to CVS that day if no credit and I am fine with that considering the 160k I and my wife have run the past few months

That's between 2 people...

Anyone know why some CVS post transactions into the future?

A purchase made today will post as one made on Jan 18

that's how my goto CVS is.

the actual transaction date posts 1 day after for all of my transactions since I started in November, so my FBs post about 48 hrs after.

I thought it was over, I bought an OV on Monday with Simon 5B and saw nothing for two days, but today I see the $25 credit, so I am off again to Simon / CVS for some more.

After shopping at probably 20+ CVS' I finally ran into one where the cashier asked to see my card. He literally snatched for it as I went to swipe, ran to the phone and called a manager who told me you can't buy a gc with a gc. Don't know why a manager needed to tell me that lol. So watch out for the black man that wears a headscarf and a bindi at the downtown Austin store.

No big deal for me, I stop at AL cvs to buy 4 ovgc, said to swipe 4 times and told 500 each time, but never went through, then cashier said let me see the card match your license, I gave to him the red Simon card reluctantly, he said, oh, it's gift card, then you can do it as credit if want split payment, sure enough, we tried again and swipe each as credits, all went well. A little nervous but he didn't say anything. Hope get my 25 posted later.or call in.

Anyone getting an "alternate payment form required" or the like error? I've gotten it twice today when purchasing $1000. It's the first swipe, but then I swipe the second card without and it processes. Then swipe the first card again and it works just fine." Not sure if this is CVS trying to limit the cards or just my random luck tonight

BenCali Jan 21, 2017 6:33 pm

For Sap Reserve I am getting the same error msg for the past two days at NorCal for OVG. Called Chase CSR and they said it's all clear from their end.

Should I try another CVS store or is there any other way to make it go through?
