Loaded MB VGC to Serve no issues at WM MC. Today in Georgia.

Yes, seems to be random stores. Reports in Syracuse, NY of same thing happening.
Reddit has more details.
Not sure if this is being done by BIN (supposedly similar to what the Post Office did back when), or if it's non-chip enabled GC (vs. "real" debit with chip). Granted, not all real debits have chips (or so I'm told, but all mine do).

As always, YMMV.

If nothing else, I would consider this writing on the wall. I'm going to start being more cautious about how much I float in GCs until more DPs clarify the situation going forward.

Did you try loading with just one swipe at a time? Does that work?

Local WM MC, went to load Serve with VGC (Metabank). Had no problem last week. Today the card swiper kept saying "invalid card/tender".
I tried swiping a few times (in case I had the mag strip wrong). The MC lady asked if it was a gift card and saw the front of the card as I was swiping and stated that they just updated the system and it won't take those any longer. I'll have to try another one 20 miles away and see if it does the same thing (the card is fine as I can load $10 onto Amazon with it).

Had a similar experience today while on my route. Bought five of the same VGCs (Metabank) at S&S first thing this morning. All cards had the same BINs. 2 of the 5 would not work at Multiple WMs to load Serve (Invalid Tender message), but they worked fine at FD 10 minutes after I left the second Walmart. I would have tried to load BB with them, but I'm maxed out for the month with BB and GoBank.

question - based on the somewhat confusing load limits I read here/on Serve, I don't THINK i've hit my limit but I keep getting "invalid amount" when I go to DG/FD to load my Serve. that's from my statement that just closed for April, plus another $390 in Withdrawal ACH. did i hit my limit?

Beginning Balance $0.00
Money Added $5,517.00
Transfer In and Credits $0.00
Check Withdrawals $0.00
Withdrawal ACH -$4,892.90
Transfer Out and Debits -$9.03
Closing Balance $610.12

before this recent hiccup or potential change, a load limit was $5k/mo regardless of what the acct balance amt

not sure what changed made to Serve, can't load MB MCGC to it; last month, successfully loaded even w/o pin #; now, attempted quick cancel but still didn't work; cashier kept saying it's credit...!

anyone was able to load MB mastercard to serve so far this month?

MCGC+Serve works fine at FD/DG. VGC+Serve should work at WM. But MCGC (and Vanilla) + Serve can be trouble at WM. They would go as "credit" if they load. Look at your old receipts and you'll see the "credit".

When did you try to load to serve? Starting today, sometime around 5pm EDT, serve seems to have major issues based on my trouble loading and other reports on reddit.

ricohitman May 4, 2019 7:02 pm

Yeah there are major issues going on right now. Both DG and FD wouldn't even accept my serve card. Said invalid.

alanisrox69 May 4, 2019 10:40 pm

No issues loading Serve yesterday 5/3 or today 5/4 at DG here. Was only doing $200 load tho. Went to 2 different DGs. 5/3 was around 4pm est, and today 5/4 was around 330pm est

Not sure about this weekend. It was all good before. But BB + MCGC is fine.

ne0ven0m May 5, 2019 12:47 pm

Yep, just wanted to add Serve + VGC (Metabank) at WM worked fine today.

spirith20 May 7, 2019 2:49 pm

No issues adding VGCat WM today...did it twice
