Note: The 2017 posts are here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/manufactured-spending/1819656-five-back-visa-card-2017-a.html

EDIT 2/3/17 @ 6pm: Rumors suggest Kmart is (or perhaps already has) dropped out of the program. We have two DPs of swipes at Kmart on 2/2 that received 5B on 2/3 (posts #1395 and #1400). Perhaps swipes through "end of week" will receive 5B... could mean 'til the end of Friday 2/3 or Sunday 2/5 or who knows. Please post DPs.

CVS - No longer working
Kmart - Hit & Miss for buying MOs
Staples & Staples.com - Confirmed working but limited to $200/$300 cards
Lowes - Confirmed working but limited to $200 cards

EDIT 1/29/17: Making 5B great again!

EDIT 1/28/17: The gravy train is over

EDIT 1/20/17 @ 2pm EST: At least 2 DPs of 5B posting today (1/20/17) from CVS transactions that took place on Thursday 1/19.

EDIT 1/18/17: CVS is still part of the 5B program. You should still be getting 5B for purchases there. If you aren't, then you should call in. There is no use in posting DPs until on or after the 1/20/17 published CV-Sexit.

In our area you can find them at Shaw's, Office Depot/Office Max, and some Hannaford's. Right now Shaw's has an instant $10 rebate on them that's limited to one per customer, but they don't notice or care if you get back in a different line after you buy one and get another. At $6.95 a VGC it's best to use a 5% grocery CC if you have one.

Have you found a way to liquidate the cashback?

Go to a store and buy $10 worth of crap.

Go to Amazon and buy a $10 gift card.

Seems like there are numerous options on how an individual could spend a $10 gift card.

And if you mean pure liquidation then you could always go to walmart and buy a $9.30 MO.

Again, not the hardest thing you'll have to figure out today.

This works if you got 1 card, how about 10 or 100 cards? Not that easy to figure out now, is it.

If it's not easy to liquidate for you, then don't purchase the 5 back for MS.

Liquidating these smaller VGCs is ymmv just like using them.

Worse case scenario, use it for normal spend at grocery at self checkout lane.

You dont need self-check to pay with multiple gift cards. Virtually all grocery stores would auto-drain the gift cards. just keep swiping one by one.

The poster was dreaming about having 100 of them... well good luck this thing would last long enough to have him cumulate to that number...

MO at K-mart?

If it is really possible to buy MOs at K-mart with debit/gift, then that would clearly be a far better avenue for these cards than CVS. Cost is $0.70 vs $4.95, plus one less step to get the MO. This would be what everyone was doing... I have read many (most?) places online that you can't use debit to buy MO at K-mart, it's cash only. But perhaps it's location-dependent and worth a try.

Any further details on where or how this other person was able to pull this off? It would be a game-changer when dealing with these FiveBack cards.

Location Location Location.

There is no such thing to "pull off" - all depends on how your local store policy. Think about it, if it is easily done, why would anyone messes with CVS?!

The DP is for the 5 back posted or not under DB. Very few DPs show DB would post automatically. The poster claimed it posted for him as DB at CVS refused to reveal his location. Sooooo... not reliable.
None posted with DB mode per a friend in Cali.

My local supermarkets (Albertsons-owned) are again offering these Five Backs below cost. My "problem" is that I've found only one local CVS that will let me buy a gift card with them, and it's kind of a lengthy process with them typing in my ID and lots of button pushing. My local KMart isn't super convenient, but it might be worth a trip if I can buy MOs there. Does anyone know what the swipe limit and MO limit is at Kmart? Do they tend to be as "chill" as Walmart on this type of thing?
