As of 9/18/21: WM loads are no longer free. WM will charge each load (no matter what the size) $3.74 in addition to the money being deposited into your Go Bank account.
GoBank fees and limits:
Cash deposits are limited to $2,500 per day and $3,000 per 30 days, subject to a maximum account balance of $50,000.
The monthly fee will accumulate if the account is dormant. You must call the phone number on the back to close the account.
5/29/19 - There may be a difference in which card gets free loads at WM. Getting the card online through GoBank.com sends out a Visa version. This card may not allow free loads at WM. Reports are that getting the card directly at WM will result in free loads. If anyone can confirm this, please do so.

Obviously, you are new to MS. Please read this thread couple of months back and you will find clues where and how to load GB account at different locations.
Actually, you might want to start by reading WIKI at the top of the screen.

There was some sort of issue recently, I got an email apologizing about tech issues that caused delays. Fortunately it did not matter for timing on these particular payments. Would have been pi$$ed if it caused me to miss a cc payment due date

Reading the thread it appears GoBank doesn't like ACH pulls. It seems like they wouldn't like me sending a personal check since that would just initiate an ACH pull as well, right? So that leaves using their billpay. Can anyone explain to me how using GoBank billpay to pay a credit card works? Presumably there is no way to attach the statement pay stub. How are you attaching your account number? Are certain CCs better for paying this way than others? Thanks.

After that the cc just appears in your list of regular billers and you just select how much you want to pay and when. All happens electronically, no need for stubs

Signed up online for an account. I understand that I can do this and they'll send me a card, right? If not, I'll just swing by WM and pick one up.
After that I'll activate it, online. Then swing by Staples and pick up some VGC to unload on my new card.
Do GiftCardMall VGC work the same as Staples?

IME, you have to pay up to 3.95 loading fee per load up to $500, Staples and GCM VGC works. Also be mindful about $8.95 monthly fee unless you have DD over $500 monthly. Best bet is to pay 2.95 at Wal-Mart to get a Mastercard gobank card in person, it's loading free only at Walmart. Things may changed from my experience, you will live and compare and learn. Best wishes.

Can you reload the temporary card after you purchased it and did the ID verification successfully ?
or do I need to wait for the personalized card ?

Jumped in on getting a GoBank card. I signed up online through their site, the card was delivered. I activated the card then went over to Staples to pick up 2 $100 VGC. Drove over to WM and went to the Money Center to load my card. 1st CSR had trouble with it, also I noticed it was going to charge me $3.74 for the load. I was thinking, after reading your post that I wouldn't be charged for the load. The 2nd CSR ran it through and told me there is a $3.74 charge for the load. I didn't complain, just sucked it up, loaded and walked out.
Question is if you do buy/pick up your card AT WalMart is this the only way you get FREE LOADS?
Or has WM's policy changed and they are now charging for the loads?
