Anyone know of a way to see online (on the Bluebird website) whether an account has been shut down? Or is it just the email and/or trying to load at WM and getting declined?

As of now both of my household's serve cards are still open (mine makes sense as I've yet to use it, though I previously had a now-closed serve that was loaded by GCs). We're located in Texas.

I manage 3 OneVIP cards, 1 for me, 1 for wife, 1 for mom. ONly my wife's got shut down. I reviewed all 3 accounts to see what was different between them.
Mine - loaded $5000/mo in Nov and Dec (WM and RA), $1000 so far this month. Load $1000/mo online with debit using PPBDMC. A couple active AMEX offers but didn't use them. No real purchases. No email. Wife - loaded $5000/mo in Nov and Dec (WM and RA), $1000 so far this month. No debit online loads. I may have had a couple AMEX offers loaded, but not used. No real purchases. Got the email this morning. Mom - loaded $5000/mo in Nov and Dec (WM and RA), $0 so far this month. No debit online loads. Added a couple AMEX offers, but not used. 1 real purchase in November, for $0.55 at Redbox. No email. I don't know if any of this means anything, but the only one that got the email has no online debit loads, no purchases, no active AMEX offers. The 2 accounts still alive (for now) either have online debit loads or active AMEX offers or a real purchase. Too scared to load at RA today. Will make tiny purchases with remaining funds today (candy bar, gum), then will try debit online load with PPBDMC and take it from there. |

Just now when I tried to load money onto the card using my bank account, I got an email asking for a scan of my ID and bank statement. The statement I sent had no BB activity on it, so here's hoping. I was averaging about one $500 VGC per month, so hopefully I'm under the radar enough to not get axed. I did also use the check writing function to pay tuition about a year ago. I wonder if the key is to actually use the card for a few POS purchases each month. I'll have to start doing that if I end up surviving. |
