Same here; looked online to make sure I had authorized the vgc and under activity is shows "purchase/original sale/reversal".

I will NOT miss going to Walmart to load Serve.

Not sure we need all six of these threads on Bluebird shutdowns.

Im wondering if this has to do with card address on file. 2 of 3 of mine were shut down. Same activity on all 3, Kate, vgc, Bill pay to Amex, but two of the cards have the same mailing address, the 3rd card that did not get shut down has a different mailing address..

So far I haven't gotten the email for mine or my wife's accounts. I'm sure it's coming as I've been maxing out those cards since Day 1. Luckily I just bought and loaded $9500 in GCs on Wednesday, so I'm not stuck with anything. I really was getting tired of the whole Walmart thing and at times I found I couldn't stop, even if I had nothing big to MS on. Most of the points come from signup bonuses, so as long as we spread those out we should be okay. The days of Citi Exec offering 100K points for an unlimited number of cards and having to spend $10K on each were over anyway. Citi limits you to churning every 18 months, Amex no longer lets you churn, Chase is cracking down on their Sapphire/Ink/Freedom. The first time I got a SW Companion Pass I had never even heard of MS and I still managed to complete the spend on both credit cards. I think I'll be okay with just getting one new card that I really need every several months.

Yes, I am pretty sure that the federal Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination based on race, religion, gender, disability, ethnic origin, and really rich people.

Now the question is load 10k now or completely stop in hopes that they will stay open long enough to be used in the future.

I'm leaning towards load 10k now while I can and just assume they're likely going to be shut down even if I stop using them.

I'm in the exact same pickle with BB's. Roll the dice and hope the survivors continue to survive? Or view them as dead ducks walking, and max them out today?

Mine both had the same address. (BB/Serve)

I have a bad feeling about MOs. Now there are going to be more people going this route and it just takes one careless people to burn a store (or region) for everybody.

So if anyone wants to start the MO adventure now, please please at least read a couple of the related threads to make sure you know how to do it properly. It is very YMMV.

Probability people will be careful with MO's(?) 0.001%. There will be plenty of people rolling into a Kroger trying to get 12K worth of MO and cause managers everywhere to crack down.

My Serve just got shutdown, but my wife's Bluebird is still active. I'm fully expecting the Bluebird to get shutdown as well. Only difference was I was doing CC loads on the Serve account.

Side note: Anyone know what alternative Chase will consider as a Direct Deposit? I have 2 checking accounts open right now with them and have been relying on Serve and Bluebird as the Direct Deposit.

My BB was killed today. Been loading unloading same way for years, paid many bills with the BB...I will miss it. I already miss it. I may have a funeral ceremony for it.

I'm wondering - I never had a serve ever. If I open a serve do you think it will be flagged because of my BB shutdown?

Just had my Green Serve card shutdown. I have had it since August and been loading a few thousand per month. I have added funds via an Amex card and recently with a debit card. I used it to make the occasional small purchase, but mainly the money went out to pay off one CC and to qualify for a bank bonus. I just bought $4000 in SMGC a couple of hours ago and have another $1100 in cards to liquidate. Looks like MOs are going to be big this week.

WM Savings Catcher to BB

Got the shutdown notice on my BB account. I was also using the WM Savings Catcher feature and would have the funds transferred to my BB account. I guess I will keep the BB open just for that purpose. Not going to shut it down if this feature still works.

2. I will save gas and money from going to Simon 2 to 3 times a month buy 25 to 40k in GC - ok not really..

3. Will get another Ink card most likely and $300 GC will make it easier.

4. Focus on Money orders: Good thing we can buy 2k a shot - with my wife we can buy 10k on a Saturday since we have 5 Walmarts with 15 minutes drive

5. Determine my bank account strategy - we currently have 4 free checking accounts each - maybe get 2 more free checking accounts so we don't have such a heavy MO deposit at one bank.

6. Finally don't have to read the same newbie questions over and over regarding serve and BB :)

7. No more trying to figure out which WM cashier cares the least about anything.

8. No more making small talk at Family Dollar. (for serve)
