Nothing sucks much worse than having a stack of $100 GC at Kate at Wally World; had that pleasure last night since no $200 cards.

I was at my local Office Max when they opened this morning at 8:00 a.m.
They had no $200 cards, so I bought three $100. The barcode wouldn't scan, so the clerk typed it in (saying "we had trouble with this yesterday"). The computer took $20 off each of the three cards..... so the total cost for $300 in cards was $257!
I didn't want to risk a second transaction .... but I will be back.

Just went to OM, no $200 there. Went across the street to OD. Had a sign up 20 off 300. Asked the manager if I bought 600 would it take 40 off. "lets find out". Sure enough, bought 3 x $200, registered showed 580.xx. So OD is doing this deal. OD does have vanilla variables but the promo is only good on the actual denominations. Otherwise, I would've bought 2 Vanillas variables for a lower activation fee. Manager also said you can't buy OneVanillas with CC

I bought 300 early this morning. Went back at lunch and bought 300 more. Got the bonus discount both times, so I grabbed another $600 off the kiosk, and gave them to the same clerk. She said "I need to check the ad to see how many I can sell you," and then promptly sold me the $600.
Total take: $1,200. Total cost: $1,034. Net profit: $166 and 5,170 miles (minus a little gas and a few minutes of time).

Some lucky SOBs in this thread. This is way better than them no fee VGC deal from a few weeks ago. My local OD is going out of business and they said their registers stopped being updated for promotions since they're closing. The registers have been set to be programmed manually for discounts since they're trying to liquidate their inventory. They're loaded with $200 VGCs too but they ring up at full price so there's nothing I can do. The managers both times I went are completely indifferent and don't want to manually adjust since they're about to be out of the job in two weeks.
The next closest location is 45 minutes away and I don't have time to make the trip up there before the deal ends next Saturday. Enjoy it while you can. At least I did manage to get $7800 worth when they were ringing up as no fee a few weeks ago.
