Because the phone reps have no clue about this shutdown. You should seriously read that thread.

Can reloadits be loaded to accountnow still? I haven't tried it since the safe stuff started. Tx.

The local grocery store whom I used to buy ReloadIts from now only sells cash-only ReloadIts. The manager, whom I have a good rapport with, said that only ReloadIts available are the cash-only ones.

Depending on your rapport, you may want to see if he's willing to let you try paying with credit anyways. If they used to have the ones without cash only written on them, and you could recently buy with credit, their system is not hard coded, and the "cash only" on the top of the cards is just a suggestion that is not enforced by the computer.

At my go-to store, cashiers knew me well enough, they never read anything on the cards, just ring them up and sell them to me. The only thing that stopped me was when the registers were hard coded..

Can't push his limits. And he said that he needs to honor the the cash-only requirement anyway. So I'm back to buying VGCs and trying to relearn how to do bill pay and MO purchasing.

i dunno, turn over is unreal in these offices, and if you go and get denied in the morning, go again at night. get one, go to a cashier, and ask for 350 on it. it won't raise any flags, and you'll know if its hard coded or not.

i think getting to know people and pretending you care is another method of getting shut down. now because you feel like you're friends with the guy, you can't get your job done.

On the other hand, treating staff like pawns in your game will likely cause them to stop selling you anything. It sounds like this location is still good for VGC for him, and he doesn't want to lose that.

MS is more like Social Engineering than almost anything I've done. If I go and meet a grumpy CSR or Manager, i just go back later and have no problems. There is a safeway where I was buying reloadits every day for months. One day the manager was like hey these are cash only. After going around and around with her, I realized she wasn't going to budge. I went back later that night and there was another guy working, he sold me 2500 no questions asked.

Sometimes you catch a fly with honey and sometimes you might catch more with vinegar :) My local reloadit store has great CSR's and I even talk to them about how to earn more points with their cards. It's really YMMV and if someone says they demanded a manager when they were purchasing GC or they walked away, who am I to judge their area for MS. But going again at a later date when a different employee is working is probably the easiest method to get what you need.

100%.

I have a store with one evil manager. She always says cash/debit only for everything, probably even retailer GC. All the other managers and employees of the store are fine with credit. Some of the cashiers know she feels this way, but *also* feel she is a grumpy evil person, and sell to me *while she is working* as long as she doesn't walk up. xD

Agreed.

I don't want to abuse the goodwill the manager has shown me for the past 2 years. Plus, he was the one who introduced me to ReloadIts after he saw me buying a lot of VGSs and told me I could use my credit card. Yes, I learned about it through him, as opposed to FT or blogs.

If anyone spots ReloadIts being sold without the cash-only print, please post! But I think this thread is probably going to become obsolete soon. :(

We're telling you they aren't really cash only. All new versions say cash only so you will be hard pressed to find ones without that wording. They are usually in the very back and covered in dust.

Try a cashier and purchase for 300 to see if its hard coded. Buy some groceries too.

I purchase reloadits with cash every other day in 2500 increments with a cc.

Sounds like it.. I have three T-Mobile cards that have been empty since WD hard coded RL against credit.. At my current pace, I might find your store, get 5 or 6 more T-Mobile cards, and cause a shutdown... :/

I add the pack to reloadit safe but could not add to my card. How long do I have to wait?
