YMMV. I've been to the same store where a cashier will cite "cash only, store/system policy" but then the very next time, another cashier does it no problems.

I got a print out at Winn Dixie for this deal from the coupon print out machine. It wasn't a coupon itself to be scanned, it just said if I bought $100+ in Mastercard/Visa gift cards that I would get a $10 coupon off my next purchase.. Bought my gift card (with a credit card), got my coupon, and excited to use it on my next grocery run ^_^

SD has plenty of Safeway stores.. One of them only about 15min from Mt. Rushmore!

Unfortunately all variable gift cards at Safeway in our area are cash only.. similar experience for others?

I think if you throw a $100 gc in there, it would be ok...but they seem to get scared when you try to get the $500 load. But yeah, in general, cash only.

The problem with Safeway is that you need to go online and load the personalized coupons to your card. If you do that, I have found their prices to be comparable to or better than Kroger, Albertsons, etc., but still not as good as Walmart or Winco. It's a bit of a hassle, but since Vons is my closest supermarket, I do it.

Would anyone mind sharing how long the $10 coupon is good for? Also, any restrictions like it can't be used for dairy or other categories?
