I suspect cookies. Not IP.
I mean sure. They log IP's. But idk.
Too many variables.

I suspect neither.

Sometimes I don't bother with the incognito mode, different browsers, different IPs..some accounts are alive and well, others are shut down right away. Totally random for me.

Am I on watch now? I was hoping to squeeze a 1k payment in this month that's why I rushed things a bit. I signed us both up and sent a 500 test payment to my wife. Let it sit while her back account was verified then once I had the green light I sent another 500 and withdrew both yesterday. Then I added the new cards and I got the email at 4:30 am today. All they asked for once I signed in was my full name address and social.should I wait a week to try again?

I would wait until getting email from them that this account has been verified.

I am a horrible procrastinator but I wanted to do Amex GCs on AP and it took forever for them to approve one of my purchases. Anyways, I decided to start doing A->B,B->A. (For the last few months I have only done A->B.) I loaded a $1k GC on acct B yesterday (as soon as I got the GC in the mail) and went to send the full payment. (I know some think this is dangerous but w/e). Anyways, I dreaded "transaction under review...up to 24 hours". I was super worried that it would mean me missing out on $1k for the month of Feb :-(. But then at 11:30 pm EST, I get an email that payment was received on acct A! So I think I squeaked into the monthly limits. Yay! This month, I'm going to do it a lot earlier in the month.

When I first opened my accounts. I always got that message.
Since I do them later at night, I would wake up and they'd be approved. ^

No worries.

When you were doing A->B then B->A, were you using two credit cards so you are getting 2k/month?

aeneas3 Mar 1, 2014 5:21 pm

anyone having difficulty with amazon payments seeing a credit card on their account?
adding a CC to my account via amazon or payments.amazon results in it not being visible when trying to send a payment.

any idea why?
thanks
ps
adding other cards works fine. Just sending money with another card I need to hit a threshold on. not a big deal. more curious than anything :)

This was my first time doing both ways. I used two Amex GCs and sent $1k each way.

Yup, sent 1k yesterday morning at around 7am. Took 4 hours to process. Panicked, then looked the thread and relaxed. In the end everything turned out ok

It's 20K AND 200 transactions annually.

Any chance to include this info in the wiki with more detail. In short, I don't understand the problem. It would seem the only way to apply this restriction is 'per account' and if you do $1K per month, that is $12K per year. So, what/how is the $20K counted? In + out? That would limit you to 10 months per year, but I don't understand the limits, the computations, the threat that is implied.

In any case, an elaboration on what this means, in the wiki, would be hugely appreciated.

Why would it be per account? It'd be per SSN.
And it's 1K received. Not sent.
