SGN-KUL B738 J in November

have a choice of MH B738 or VN A321 from SGN-KUL in November 2018 - J class - is the alcohol ban on regional flights under 3 hours still in place ? If so , may choose the VN flight .

Just flew J on 2 hour 738 flight . Had a lovely purser who was chatty and informed that they have received a number of complaints regarding the lack of alcohol in J class on sub 3 hour flights and they constantly provide feedback on the issue .i was strongly encouraged to send in my comments .

I flew in Business today on MH714 from Bali to KL (1:10pm) and alcohol was served, including champagne. It was on the cart, so no special request needed! ^

Today: KUL-RGN no alcohol for the afternoon flight. I won't be using them in the future.

So your options on that route are Air Asia and Malindo neither of which serve free alcohol?

I think Malindo serves (really poor quality) alcohol.

anyways, I understand why the OP was expecting alcohol in the first place as KUL-RGN still falls under the sub-3hour regional category.

No alcolhol on yesterday's MH851 (KUL-DPS). When I requested a glass of wine I was told, rather abruptly "we don't have wine on short flights". I'm not surer why a 1200 miles, 3 hour flight is considered 'short', but that's just me. Anyhow... this policy sucks and I really wish MH would reconsider it.

That as well but not to serve alcoholic drinks...in business even... That's below par.
