And it looks like they're renting 2 of the 4-bedroom villas too (with suites bookable individually?).

I am really confused.

I thought AZ's villa was a singular 10-bedroom villa?
Amanusa will be no more come March . Only Amanusa Villas .
AZ ‘ s villa is Revivo .

This is a separate entity & management . But Amanusa Villas guests / owners are able to use it like a ‘ central ‘ building .
Amanusa Villas are now either leased as one or with the option of suites bookable individually .

As Kagehitokiri has guessed it is the “ same owner / operator as nusa dua / golf course “ along with Shangri La which should be done within a couple of years at a stretch . This owner seems to have plans for the area which would not have been ideal for an Aman

Some staff will be at other Amans , few will move to the villas while many are being interviewed by the owner . Likely will be spread among the various ventures he has in Nusa Dua ( seen from Nusa ‘ s perch )

i saw photos of amanusa pool.. what happens to amanusa?
hmm, unless i misremember, may have removed photo?
clearly 2 4BR that book (8) rooms, from descriptions
FlyerEC: + 8BR (instead of 8 amanusa pavilions)
which i guess makes sense as they say "main villa"
spa with 5 treatment rooms
restaurant seats 48
50m lap pool

SL is half owned by SL

reason to do last minute: get entire villa for price of room >
Revivo 4BRs & como shambhala estate Residences

Many Nusa Villas have large pools , it was not the Nusa pool that you saw ..

Villas 4 , 8 , 9 & 10 seem to be what we are talking about now with the same owner . 9 & 10 were the ZECHAs with 9 & 10 being completed only now . 4 ( has been in use by owner ) & 8 are also being “ finished “ for new resort .

The dining rooms of some of the villas can seat large parties . Was planning a reunion some time back & have been to these at different times . Will see if I can recce what was AZ ‘ s or surroundings .

At this time , Nusa Villas changes in operations are being discussed .
New prep , receiving areas , etcetera are being built / planned . Lots to do this February with CNY in midst of it all plus GMs / senior management on the move ..
There will be live updates from those involved for some time

Here goes , at some point , Amanusa will be become an IHG - Kimpton ?
There is also ongoing construction downhill , most of which will be a “ water park “ ..

i know what amanusa pool looks like.. if choice between kimpton (50 villas) or torn down, choice/preference is easy

according to previous post here kimpton will also include last empty beachfront space between st regis and mulia

i imagine location will become even less desirable for amanusa after no space for beach club, plus waterpark, etc

Amanusa Villas - anticipating changes :) (29 Photos)

Amanusa

Room

The suites have generally better quality ‘ Furniture , Fixtures & Equipment ‘ as they are owned by individuals / families who make their own “ stamp “ .

Shown here are some suites of Villas 1 & 2 , views from them

Location

Quiet area of Nusa Dua !!

Some villas overlook the golf course .

It is just beyond where Amanusa was but seems further as the road is rather circuitous .

Service

Aman standards  , of course !

As this is technically not a hotel , the full complement of hotel staff is not required . But to our delight , some Amanusa staff are now holding roles here for the necessary ones too . For instance , while there are no full therapists , the former Amanusa ones are now free lancers who come by on call .

Each villa has their own villa team including a chef .

We had 2 butlers who are on the premises at all times .

Obviously , there is no gallery or shop !

Dining

Your villa chef will prepare the meals  .

Shane L is currently organising kitchen improvements for all villas plus adding new grills , etc - that was when this was first written in February ..

This however exciting is not happening as yet :( !

Many dining spots to choose from - just about anywhere outdoors and indoors including some airconditioned rooms :)

We had dinner in the open dining pavilion & chose to have breakfasts / brunches in the airconditioned library as my parents cannot do stairs ..

Just too many to post !

Overall

Am thrilled that Nusa Villas are now available to rent / stay as suites without having to book the whole villa  !

Cannot post under Nusa Villas though  .. :(

Technically , possible to have all the common areas to yourselves if no one else is staying !

Though not all villas are for let ( 1 , 2 , 3 , 6 & 7 are ) , since some owners keep it for their “ sole “ stay , there are enough villas to go around .

We have seen all that are available .

Convenient to & from Wana too .

Looking forward to the changes to be completed including the wood fire pizza oven  .

Go stay yourselves .

Check In

Was Amans pleasant & swift in suite by the Guest Service Manager

On arrival , we were welcomed by just about the whole team , seemed like it anyway , including the GM David G .

There were fewer at send off , being a major religious festival day & many staff returned to their villages . Plus , by then , we were the only villa occupied .

Each one is unique

Each villa & their suites have owners ‘ taste of art & there maybe “ extra “ furniture but all inline with Amans ‘ s style .

As mentioned , the villas have a range of a number of suites available , 4 to 6 , and the owner also has the option not to let out their master suite . This will not affect one ‘ s enjoyment of the villa .

Some villas have more greenery and landscaping also varies , also depending on topography :)

All beautiful !

Amanusa Villas - anticipating changes :)

No, thank you.

Anyone going to the New York Aman event next month? I suppose sponsoring Asia Week makes sense if they want more visibility for the opening of Aman NY in a couple years.

Yep! Don't have much more than that or what/how extensive the renovations were, just the opening date. I suppose will get more info the next few weeks.

Was trying to post on here but the site was acting up.

aman sold 2014 initially to JV incl NY based
aman's jet tour partner also NY based
(n)era 'founders' mostly NY based, had sales event(s)

Blessed CNY ( Lunar NY , Tet ) everyone !
A special one for Kila GM Ernst L who has arrived at AmanYY , in time to welcome the Year of the Dog in Shanghai .
As mentioned earlier , he has come ( to rather frigid conditions in the region ) to cover this newly opened / latest Aman property for a few weeks . Lots happening over this festive Chinese holidays .
Glad he is there to oversee things .
