Yes it is.... And hits every note (except families) that @katiefftravels has mentioned.
Yes there is a little seaweed just off the beach when you go in to swim, but otherwise the calm waters and soft sand always gets high reviews
and with Oetker running F&B now the food has never been better and the ability to order (with pre-warning) whatever you basically want is amazing.

as an aside, does anyone round these parts know what in sam hayne is actually going on w caneel bay? looking around, reading about lawsuits between island and US govt. just really a shame. that place was all sorts of wonderful. elegant, british, but not too stiff. im not expecting a rebuild of CB at this point, but with that setting........
or barbuda. any word? my goshen, those beaches.

o my living lord, katw, i just went back and looked and everything is overhauled and refreshed (where it needed to be). and having had probably the best meal of my life at the chateau st martin, i'm now essentially committed to going back to JB very soon.
so i guess my wallet says thanks.

Thank you all so much! Ive enjoyed reading through your comments. Ive been on multiple travel threads and it seems like Parrot Cay's food and accommodations are mediocre for the price and Amanyara hasn't gotten any thumbs up so we may just go back to Cap Juluca or Im also looking into a few others you all mentioned. This is a tough decision!
ABG, I'd love to hear what you think is the best accommodation for a couple with the most privacy/beach views?

Caribbean help
It seems like the prices in the Caribbean are insane this spring. I'm looking for a luxury hotel for less than $3k/night ($4k if inclusive of food/drinks) for a couples' trip. It would be great if there's a direct flight from ATL or CLT. We're considering Amanera (how's the beach really?), La Samanna, Cap Juluca, Jade Mountain, Sugar Beach, and Hermitage Bay. I would've chosen MO Canouan but it's so difficult to get to that island for a short 4-night trip. We loved Amanpulo and One&Only Mandarina. We've liked Big Ambergris in TCI and FS Anguilla, but aren't interested in going back to either right now. We've been ok with the new Ritz TCI because of the club level. We didn't like Grace Bay Club (tried it 3 times), Pine Cay, and the other TCI hotels that are too numerous to list. We are going to Mayakoba later this year so trying to avoid that area until then. Amanera seems like a winner except that we LOVE swimming in the ocean. Can anyone suggest an alternative or reassure us about the beach there?

When is your travel window window? If you are thinking about Hermitage Bay then why not Jumby Bay?
Nassau (Rosewood or Four Seasons) and Grand Cayman (Palm Heights or Ritz since you seem to be a fan) come to mind

Its unfortunately late spring/early summer when some kids are out of school. Jumby Bay is booked for part of our stay. I was trying to avoid really large hotels to minimize large families with young kids. Its an anniversary trip so looking for someplace more romantic.

would you consider the new FS Naviva? Its right within your budget and all inclusive.
Almost all in the Caribbean will be super full with kids if its spring break.

Jumby Bay is booked for our trip. Unfortunately, it's a busy time for travel and we were trying to avoid huge hotels that might be full of large families/kids.
The new FS Naviva looks great but the plunge pool rooms were closer to $5k/night when I checked and they say the beach isn't swimmable unless you trek to the regular FS Punta Mita.

Maybe you should check again as I don't see any closed out dates from 1 May to 30 June - promos are still open for sale and Pearl Partners have extra credits for these dates
