I like their design language...just feels like it could use just a touch of British/London accents/influence to go with the MO design.

How is the Mandarin Oriential Singapore currently? I have seen their renovation starts March 8 and lasts until September. I would be visiting shortly before that and am afraid that there will already be some early work on the way or facilities out of use or just generally rundown. But they seem to have a much better view than the Conrad...

After announcing the 3rd property to come to London, MO just officialised today the long rumoured property in Sardinia, Mandarin Oriental Porto Cervo.
They will have an exciting footprint in south Europe with three properties in Spain, multiple (up to six rumoured) in Italy and two in Greece!

The new MOs in Greece will be the opening of Costa Navarino next week, followed by Athens in some years... but MO needs more properties, for a while they lost more than they could open.

Yes... another Statuto property. They are also developing a Six Senses in Milan, among others.

"Buyers said they've been told late 2024 or early 2025, even though in June, a top official at the project's developer, Penn-Florida Companies of Boca Raton, said the project was "in the homestretch" and set for completion by year-end, despite having few windows installed.
On Tuesday, Penn-Florida backed away from its rosy December completion date. The company acknowledged that completion won't happen until an unspecified time next year."

I had lunch at the newly renovated MO Singapore recently. What a transformation. Nothing new design wise, but it’s a lot fresher and brighter than before.
I was also given a tour of the guestrooms. Pretty abysmal job in the rooms not facing the water, but pretty good job in the higher category rooms and suites. The wallpaper in the corridor will get a lot of attention :-)

Lunch was a buffet, pretty good variety for SE Asia luxury hotel. Service was warm and attentive. Nothing to fault in the restaurant. The quality of design/construction elsewhere, is up for a debate. It’s quite an ahievement what they did in 6 months, but still… If possible, avoid the guestrooms not facing the water.
Standard room. They painted existing millwork.
All day dining
Yes, that is the final wallpaper product, not some tape over gypsum walls.

Senior MOBKK individual was there to train staff for last couple of weeks , will need to return for further development - obviously will take time to get it anywhere near MOBKK or MOHK .
Said her room was fine had some water view but Singapore Flyer too !
At least a positive trend.
