I'm booking a *A reward flight through BMI route LHR-FRA-LAX in mid november the LHR flight arrives at 0900 and the FRA flight departs at 1015. Is 1 hr 15 enough for the connection at FRA given that the LH website suggests that 2hrs min is needed? I cannot just book the FRA-LAX flight on its own using a different flight from London the day earlier because of married segment issue - this ticket can only be booked on the full route.
My question is if we miss our flights will LH put us on a later/other carrier the same day? And is this connection doable.
Thanks

The LHR flight tend to have a terminal position which then puts you into Terminal 1B or sometimes T1 C. Your LAX flight can depart either from T1 C or T1 Z (the previous A50+ gates).
If you have your flight LHR-FRA-LAX in one PNR then you are also covered incase your inbound to FRA is delayed. Normally during approach into FRA, the cabin crew announces all flights where the connection cannot be made. In this case, if you hear your LH456 FRA - LAX to be announced during approach into FRA, you can go straight to the LH ticket counter in FRA, best within airside. Or sometimes, they pick you up from the airplace itself and drive you to your connecting flight, so once you deboard your LHR flight, check for guys with signs like "Connecting LH456". Normally the are just after the aircraft finger.
At the ticket desk, if you then mention that you inbound to FRA was delayed etc. they will put you on the next available flight, I can't imagine that there is a difference between tickets redeemed though ££ or Miles.
Not sure what you mean with "married segment" though.

Please also keep in mind that the flight is still ~9 months away, so chances are not too low that there will be time changes in the schedule, which might lead to more/less time in FRA. So right now I wouldn't worry too much. Check back around September and things should be clearer then. If times stay like this and you miss your flight, you are either rebooked through MUC (arrival 7pm instead of around 1pm) or are put on a different carrier.

OK, I am seriously cross eyed. I've read the FRA connections thread (well...the important parts), done searches, and I'm still confused. In April, I have the following:
CDG-FRA-LED
0:45 minute connection
LED-FRA-CDG
1:15 connection
For the life of me I can't figure out where I'll be coming and going from and whether I'm in for a bad time. I think the LED flights are typically from 1B (ugh...it says bus a lot) and CDG is in 1B or 1A, but LED is non-Shen and CDG is Shen.
I'm more worried about the return because I connect to an AA award out of CDG (with a comfortable connection in CDG...but I need to get there!)
Any thoughts...tips, suggestions, tricks, "don't go there's"...

Connecting at FRA
Wow this is a great Thread. I will be flying in on Continental/United on the way to JNB leaving on SAA. I am not a member of anything but will be using miles.
It looks like with a 11 hr layover the only lounge I can us is out side of everything. Oh well such is my life. Last time was through FRA found a lounge
that would let me stay for 3 hours for 30euros a rip off I think.

I suggest you check the thread M&M Lounge meetings. Probably someone can guest you in a lounge but with such a long layover you should contemplate going downtown.

Well that happened last year when i was booked on the same connecting flight from LHR the 6.15 was pulled in September (for Nov. travel)and we were put on a flight a day earlier. Meant I had to change all my hotel bookings.... but in the end it didn't matter as availability came up for a reward flight on the direct route from LHR on NZ!

Hi everyone, just a quick query about transiting in Frankfurt. I'm flying to St. Petersburg from Dublin via Frankfurt this coming Friday with Lufthansa. My question relates to duty free purchases. Im wondering if I purchase say a bottle of brandy in Dublin, will I be able to take it all the way through to St Petersburg? The reason I ask is that last week i flew to Paris via Frankfurt with Lufthansa again and on the outbound journey from Dublin we had to pass through security. It was rather strange though as on the return journey from Paris as I didnt have to go through security then. Can anybody shed some light for me? Im a little confused. I have of course transited before with duty free shopping and have been lucky, but I read elsewhere that travellers sometimes have their goods confiscated. I'd really appreciate any help you can give. Many thanks

Is it possible to connect between C13-16 and D/E upper (non-schengen) level directly, without having to walk to the B/C skyline station, and take the train back to T2 again?
How about the other way round, when I have to get from D/E Non-Schengen to C13-16 departures? I remember having made the way from a C16 arrival to the SEN Lounge on level below via a set of staircases close to the "Riegel"
