As an example, last October in IAD F pax (I don't know if HONs in different cabins as well) were met at end of jetty, guided through mobile lounge and dropped at Crew line (which saved about 80 minutes waiting time). The same applies to MIA this January. I would not call that 'useless'.

- Departure: The Plaza Premium Lounge has an area cordoned off to keep seats for HONs. It is nothing to write home about but at least we got a seat in this full lounge. Reminded me a bit of the “HON room” at BER. Minus the champagne.

Not that I can say much about HON arrival services besides reading this thread, but upon arrival in VIE on OS254 (Fri 9 Feb) from LEJ in an EMB-195, we taxied to an apron parking position and there was a VW Multivan waiting for the HON that was sitting behind me in 4D/F (I was in 3D) and whisked him away after he got off the plane. He had the black tag on his Samsonite bag, so that is how I could tell.
Actually, I think my 3rd row was the last row in "Biz" as it was the last row of seats that had the headrest cover showing "the extra space" thingy mentioned on it, but I wouldn't swear by it. If so, the crew also served the little sandwich box and Biz drinks to the HON which would be a nice touch of appreciation.

Met and greeted by escort at the end of the jet bridge. She cut in front of about 5 people who had made it to immigration before me through a "VIP" channel in the eerily empty immigration hall. Fairly useless for me (not her fault, just because I didn't have checked luggage and got off the plane first, as FAs made sure F pax had priority), but potentially helpful for pax with checked bags and/or when your flight arrives just after other international arrivals and the arrivals hall is busier than when I got there.

Arrival today to GRU in F and as HON
Three LX/LH staff waiting at the bridge. All they do is tell the number of the luggage belt and that one needs to pick up the luggage in GRU in case of a domestic connection. Today the line for the immigration was manageable. But it would be so useful to have them escort through crew lane in case of huge lines. Overall, this service is good for nothing -and is just a waste of money (if LH/LX pay staff for this extra “service”)

Departure in MIA for F always great with LX as even with TSA pre lines sometimes are long and they cut right to the front and are very good at just bringing you straight to the cordoned off gate area and you can sit there (The Latam lounge remains a zoo. If only like AF they could have this little closed off area with some champagne)

I’ve had useful LX escorts recently at BOS and MIA, and a completely useless greeter after an LH F flight at JFK. Maybe an LX thing.

LX at JFK was good before the move to T1, especially as they had their own lounge, escorts to front of TSA pre queue and almost always managed to cut the queues at immigration too.
Does the IAD arrival shuttle still exist? As bad as IAD was and is for immigration ever since they replaced the machines, it at least helped avoid the people movers. With LX starting IAD it would be great if they offered this service.

MIA was always great arriving and departing LX in the past, then post C19 they offered little so it's good to hear that they are back. Last time I was there they offered nothing and the immigration queue was >1 hour.
LX at JFK was good before the move to T1, especially as they had their own lounge, escorts to front of TSA pre queue and almost always managed to cut the queues at immigration too.

Just one observation about MIA: there was one escort for 8 pax (we closed the doors 6/8 and the purser then sold the other two seats for 1000 a piece) and if one of the pax who accepted the escort had had luggage, it probably wouldn’t have worked so well.

I once had that at MIA too, arriving to a completely empty immigration hall. In fact, it was so empty that the pax in front of me just walked past the immigration booths before an agent arrived. The pax, of course, then was shouted at and reprimanded for illegally entering the US.
