That just means that they're in the kitchen now preparing a year's worth of snacks. Then everything will go into the deep freeze.

Frozen food ? I was expecting ( praying for ) freshly prepared by some delightful & talented Chef & not just snacks 😲

Personally, I would prefer a frozen and reheated meal designed by a competent chef and made from quality ingredients over a freshly made meal of low quality ingredients designed by lowest bidder

Of course freshly prepared by a competent chef is the best

I think everyone is aware that ultimately we are talking about airline food...

Yes, but so many airlines do get it done better, starting from several of LHs own daughters.

I agree entirely and believe OS is the benchmark in LH Group. Looking at other carriers outside LH Group where Do&Co cater I also believe that while budget certainly is a quality determining factor, Do&Co generally does an above average job.

Agree that OS is way above what LH serve up but for me the new LX pre order is the best, you get a choice & see a photo of it beforehand :tu:

If I were to make a wish list for the new concept, it would look something like this:

Pre-Departure:
- Hot Towels.
- Choice of Champagne or Water (it’s short haul, so could be served in plastic glasses so that they don’t have to be cleared away for takeoff).
- Distribution of printed menu cards and receipt of meal orders.

In-Flight:
- Initial drinks and nuts service on flights blocked at 1hr30 or more.
- At least two food options, with hot meals being the default as on Austrian and preferably catered by Do&Co.
- Provision of Tablecloths.
- Sekt replaced by Champagne (Swiss manage it).
- Farewell chocolates as offered today.

I realise, of course, that we’d be lucky to get even half of that…

Well, if they’d like to poach the premium customers BA have just alienated, matching their catering offer and expanding flights to UK regional airports wouldn’t be a bad strategy ;)

Seizing a sensible opportunity is not a LHG attribute IME, note that AF are offering status match to BAEC refugees, maybe the LH intern has not picked up yet, too busy trying out the Heimat replacement recipes :D

LH is too premium to bother with unsatisfied customers of lowly "competitors"...:D

Also: I fear if anyone at LH is currently busy it's with analysing how to copy the devaluation at BAEC.

Saw this post and applied right away. Nope. "This offer is unavailable at your location, or the offer has expired."
