Pointing out the obvious here but the last three reviews were all positive from a taste perspective - that’s at least something given some of the Heimat slob was close to inedible.

a low bar to clear I know - agree not offering choice makes little sense when LX does it pretty well

You said it yourself, they don't do it because they're cheap.

That's why I'll never consider airlines that only give you a choice of yes or no to have good catering. The same thing applies to OS - yes, their meals are very tasty, but half of the time you end up with some sausages, which I absolutely despise = no food for me. Unlike most people, I also find AF shorthaul J meals to be very good, but again, half of the time they end up inedible for me.

Two options is a bare minimum, otherwise they may have the best food on the planet and I won't care. Pre-orders are even better.

I'll have your burrata, no problem :). Actually, what I prefer for that dish is that they (LH/ LSG etc.) do less "cooking" here and more plating only so less chance to make it bad again. ;)

Jokes aside, a single choice is always tricky, agree that preselection from a couple of staple choices should be doable. YMMV

I took part in a scientific experiment organized by Lufthansa.

The good news is that I seem to have survived. The bad news is that I have no idea what I ingested in the name of science.

I will take that burrata any day. This was Heimat level bad.

Wow, happy you survived to tell the tale :tu:

Maybe me but Burrata is best avoided…. A serious Cheese is normally welcome :D

In my opinion the food option is an improvement 👍

It would be if it was offered on most Cont flights but it is not :td:

There pre order is a same same from before, for example FRA or MUC to ATH just because the opposition does

They now claim flights over 2 hrs get a choice but not true MUC-OSL 2 hr 20 minutes block time & no choice :D

Had my first experience yesterday on AMS-FRA-SZG. Both options were vegetarian, however quite Heimat like - a random plate with some pieces of vegetables, spread & cheese. Dessert continues to be the best part, would say it even improved. Menu cards look cheap and I think could be just put into the app. They sometimes now serve the cold breads they invented for the revamped long haul experience (leftovers?) which is not a good idea. Anyone know why the would not heat them? And still they do not manage to serve sparkling water since the 1.5l bottles are never closed.

I'm fairly certain the best app in the world couldn't handle that.

This is the ham. It was disgusting old smelling ham.
The Tiramisu was made with the cheapest cream from a spray bottle.
