Light in itself it not the problem, K&L is... since you are booking via ua.com for the pqd, why not pick T fares instead?

L fares are not a problem with UA at all!
They earn 100%!

It is only K fares that have a problem

New European Economy Fares [HBO/light topics merged]

Many thanks all for the replies; I'd quote them individually, but I'm on my iPhone...

L fares - hence why I have 6 segments..

Suspect the root cause is our corporate booking tool (Egencia) aided by the Machiavellian schemers in FRA/ORD...

Given my travel plans this year. I'll maybe fly 90,000 miles on LH Group Intra Europe (which is typical for the last 4/5 years) & perhaps earn 15,000 status miles

Is there a way to check my baggage allowance for OTA-purchased ticket? I bought ticket with an outbound flights on LOT (where 1 bag is included) and return on Austrian. Is it possible that I do not have a free bag for my return flight?
I checked austrian site with my booking code - there is no info there. My fare class for Austrian is L. No info for Austrian flight on LOT as well. On Lufthansa.com I seem to be able to choose seats (that is usually part of the package with 1 bag included), but my selection can not be saved.
Thanks in advance for any tips!

Is there any way to show the booking class or fare construction for a LH-only ticket that is inter-European before actually booking it (on lufthansa.com)?

The only information I can find is Economy Light/Classic/Flex, with some mileage earnings for M&M (which indicates that the fare is K/L/T from the low earnings detailed, but given I'm earning on UA, I would like to know if it is K or L)

Just select the flights you are interested in, and then click on "show booking classes".

That does not seem to work for open-jaw/multi-segment trips.

Interesting situation..

Booked a flight on an OTA, in "Light"

Ticket includes segments on OS, LH and LX (Helvetic for LX)

It's on OS ticketstock.

On LX, I can display all my flights fine but not anything else..

On OS and LH, it tells me my PNR is invalid. On M&M as well

Gotta love the LH Group IT ^

Hi all,
I have a "light" fare booked through UA but operated by LH coming up in May.

How strict is LH on the carry-on policy for light fares? Do they actually limit you to one bag? Does a backpack count in addition to a small roller board? Just checking before I plop down more money to check the roller board.

I'm also wondering how anyone at LH knows how I'm on a light fare vs a regular coach fare. I'll use OLCI, have my BP on my phone (or printed) and will be starting in CPH, connecting in FRA.

Thanks in advance,
RM

i'm often traveling with a roller board and a backpack/laptop bag .. only one time an agent at the gate tried the ''1 piece only rule'' to which i quoted their website
Also allowed in the cabin:another item of carry-on baggage (max. 30 x 40 x 10 cm, e.g. handbag, laptop bag),...
to which she replied something like ''you're right sir but the plane is full so if you can put the backpack in the roller board it would be great , if not , don't worry about it'' ...so u shouldn't have problems
during OLCI fare class/ticket type doesn't matter ..only SEN/HON status

The type of economy fare (Light/Classic/Flex) only affects check bags and not carry-ons. You get exactly the same carry-on allowance: 1 carry-on 55 x 40 x 23 cm up to 8 kg and 1 personal item max. 30 x 40 x 10 cm.

Has anyone ever had their personal item weighed? Since there's no limit on it I presume anything goes (as long as you can carry it)?
