My point exactly. What is the message if there should be a unified one?

I guess the message is: "we didn't really think this through, it got out of hand, and in the end we decided to continue our policy not to extend any respect to customers we essentially regard as riff-raff".

M&M is 20 years old .. so they must be SEN from 1993 to 2004, then HON 3004--2011, then SEN 2011-2013, then FTL (since Feb).

So 1.2.1993-31.1.2004 is 4016 days as SEN
then 1.2.2004-31.1.2011 2556 days as HON
then 730 days as SEN and 284 days as FTL

That is 17444 points or 3 stars.
Actually the same 3 stars are valid for a HON as well. At least for now.

with your permission:
So 1.2.1993-31.1.2004 is 4016 days as SEN
then 1.2.2004-31.1.2011 2556+730+284= 3570 days as HON
That's 18742 points.

But I think we've got a good pool of potential future 5 stars_everything here:

HON before M&M

I assume the HON years before the M&M program do not count...

To be fair ... they also treated me as riff-raff when I credited 250K miles a year to my SEN account ...

The starting date to calculat the stars is clear. How about the end date?

Does LH Count until the date the card was issued or until the status is prolonged? That is roughly a 700 day difference!

Oops found it: "If an additional star is awarded during the status term, the status cardholder will receive this with their next status renewal"

I am totally disappointed I missed to get 2 stars in February 2014 by lousy 800 points. Now I have to wait until Feb 2016.

Those lousy 800 points are actually 400 SEN-days. So you'll only reach it beyond the halfway mark of your next 2 years. Hardly unfair.

This is actually starting to become a bit comical. How long until someone starts a lawsuit with M&M over their star count?

Reading this discussion, it is incomprehensible to me how LH's Marketing Department can be so retarded and ignorant. Has anybody discovered any upside in this ?

Yes. This innovation does not crash airplanes nor IT systems. So it's good
