Here's a picture that I took this morning of the walkway from 94th Street which goes all the way to the shuttle bus pickup/drop-off spot. At no point did I have to cross a lane of traffic.

Just a PSA regarding the cell phone waiting lots. Both are closing soon. The secondary lot, west of Sepulveda, is closing February 17. The primary lot, east of Sepulveda is closing March 2026. No mention of an alternative.

Probably due to the shock of it all. I probably would have had a heart attack if it was actually moving.

Thanks. - Is there btw. a Newsletter or alike to receive these construction hot topics automatically?

I checked out Lawa's website but couldn't find anything.

My cell phone waiting lot was always the roof of the CVS on Sepulveda and Drollinger Way.

On a few pages such as TransformingLAX | Los Angeles World Airports, there's this:

Not that this will happen anytime soon, but what do you LAX regulars think things will be like once the people-mover trains are fully operational? Will drop-offs and pickups be relatively easy? To/from rental car facilities tolerable?

Since LAX literally ripped off and stole the blueprints for MIA, and the terminal layouts are somewhat similar, we can assume the after-results will be somewhat similar in proportion. It may also be event driven - ie, if I'm being dropped off for a flight and the horseshoe looks like a trainwreck, I would asked to be dropped off at the main station and take the people mover to my terminal.

OTOH, I'm of the opinion that we will all travel around by personal jetpack before the people mover opens and stays open. I think the only project in north america that suffers the same level of almost mind-numbing incompetence is the Eglinton LRT in Toronto that was originally conceived over 20 years ago - and while fully built-out for a year, has still not opened for regular service.

The project in question actually opened for revenue service on 2/8. Not questioning your point—while I know nothing about it other than its existence, the fact that we have a 10k+ word Wikipedia article, including a month-by-month account of construction and implementation, is telling.

That's an interesting insight... I guess I can treat my upcoming trip to MIA as a flight to the future :)
