LAWA has actually solicited "beta testers" from the public before to try out their new construction results. I think the last I was invited to was around 2020-2021 to test the (then new) TBIT extension/concourse. You might get your wish! Good luck! :)

According to Los Angeles Magazine, the tests will consist of empty trains running on the 2.25-mile track to simulate full service and evaluate whether the automated trains can operate reliably over time.

For those who recall, ORD ran their train testing for a few years in order to get it certified for human use. Let's see how long it takes before LAWA allows non-testing folks onto the personmovers.

I estimate about 8-10 years - since the un-occupied testing will likely uncover a host of technical and design issues, and I'm sure LA County bureaucrats will step in to add last minute changes to the design

What's DFW's excuse for the dark windows in their Skylink trains?

So I got off the private hotel/parking shuttle at T6L2 and walked towards TSA. I saw stairs and escalators at the west end of T6L2. All escalators were going down. To go up it's stairs or elevators. Seems like they don't want anyone to conveniently go up to T3 and the SkyLink bridge was most likely closed. I didn't bother to explore.

April 27, 2026 @ 4:30pm L.A. time update:
The "People Mover" was not moving this afternoon - parked on the large arc between T7 and Century Blvd. No people in, on, or around the thing.

No worries, it will be moving again by 2035

Anyone saying "People Mover" is outdated. LAWA PR people already started using SkyLink, which has been sighted by long lenses for months, but because RCC (formerly CONRAC) fully opened (beyond Avis/Budget's Level 1), all the (peasant's) rental counters are now on Level 5, i.e. same level as SkyLink (Station G--no other stations have public access to the same level at this time), and the public can get a close-up view of the train station and platform, albeit fenced up for now.

BTW the post-BLM "closed to the general public 24/7" legislation/regulation of LAX doesn't include anything east of Sepulveda, so anyone can legally visit the RCC. They have a visitor's parking lot (1-hour free) on the NW corner of the building (SE corner of Concourse and Arbor Vitae).

The RCC is supposedly the building with largest space just second to The Pentagon. Maybe LAX RCC can be nicknamed The Tetragon.
