IP / Quad - Tower layout
I searched for a IP/Quad thread in which to post this but didn't find one and there does not appear to be one of the "consolidated threads" for this hotel.
We've been staying at the IP for some time now and still haven't bothered to figure out which towers they're calling Tower 1, Tower 2, etc. We usually just get rooms in terms of "the quiet side," "the loud side," "up high," "low floor," etc.
I am interested in knowing:
Is there enough interest/activity for this hotel for THIS to become the "consolidated thread"?

I am interested in knowing:
- Which tower is which? Obviously, pink is the motel-type Capri section, but which is Tower 1, Tower 2 and so on? I color coded the image below going on the presumption that each "Tower" is one of the "L" shaped blocks. If that's not right, how are they divided?
- What are the relative ages of each tower? Are they numerically oldest-to-newest?
- Does each tower have every type of room (classic, deluxe, luv tub, king suite, deluxe king suite)? If not, how are these rooms distributed?
- Which are original and which have been renovated?
- Given the ongoing construction and transformation from Imperial Palace to The Quad, any word on which (if any) rooms will get remodeled and in what order that would happen?
- Finally, for those who have stayed in various places throughout this hotel, which rooms are the best and which should be avoided? Where is your favorite room location? Why?
Is there enough interest/activity for this hotel for THIS to become the "consolidated thread"?

Purple - Capri rooms. Weren't they demolished already?
Also, I think if you call reservations they will gladly answer many of your questions.

I'd love to know too. Just booked an incredibly, incredibly cheap package that includes one week's free lodgings ("deluxe" room) at this hotel. I know it's supposed to be the worst hotel on the Strip, but we'll mostly be visiting nearby national parks for a couple of days at a time and just using the room in between trips.
So - which tower is, let's say, the least horrible ?

From the TR folks:
There appears to be construction on every side. The girl at the desk said the rooms in the yellow part (tower 4?) haven't been upgraded in about 6 years. The maid said that they're upgrading them now from the top down. Business partner was in Tower 1 and said he had a good view of the sunrise - I guess he would have been in the green part.
The front desk folks are pretty accommodating and know which rooms are newer, which are quieter, etc and they'll look around for you to get you what you want.
Thank you for writing The Quad Las Vegas.
There are Classic and Deluxe rooms in every tower. The Luv Tub, King Suite, and Deluxe King Suite are in every tower except Tower 5.
If there is anything else we can do to further assist you, please do not hesitate to contact us again.
Thank you,

I appreciate this thread.
Just booked for a last minute, quick trip.
The recent reviews haven't been that good. I'd love to be able to
give the front desk exactly the tower I'd prefer.
Any further info, or website that might further a good location?

I stayed in the yellow part, facing toward the construction outback. I was on business so the noise didn't bother me - I was gone most of the days and they didn't start work any earlier than I was getting up anyway.
The band that usually plays at carnival court out front wasn't going since there was construction there. The red part is pretty easy to get to and from but if you stay there, be sure to get a room facing away from the strip/construction.
Your best bet might be the blue or yellow towers facing toward the pool. They will probably be the quietest and are easy to get to.
My 2-week stay in January wasn't terrible but it was a bit of a pain having to navigate around the construction work and I didn't figure out the easy way to get to the back of the yellow tower until close to the end of my stay. I'll be headed back to LV for another week next week and we decided to get rooms at excalibur this time. We'll give the Q another shot once they finish the work, but navigating the maze to get to our show transportation was enough of a pain that we didn't want to deal with it again just yet.

Just to update:
I stayed at the Quad last week. I'd qualify the stay as fair.
I registered for the Total Reward Card prior to my stay. There was a line at the general registration, which looked to have about a 20 min. wait (Tuesday arrival @930p). However, at the Total Reward Gold registration desk, I was the only one. I asked if I qualified. He said the card said gold, and checked me in.
I asked for a refurbished room, in a quiet area of the hotel. The clerk indicated that NO rooms have been renovated yet. Only the exterior, and areas of the casino. He gave me Tower 1 (Blue), Floor 17 facing the pool. The room was dated, but clean. King bed was comfortable for me. TV/remote worked. Bathroom was clean. Amenities low quality. Bathtub drain was slow. Shower head needed more force but, adequate.
Hash House food and service good.
I think the biggest issue I had was the construction start time for the hotel being built next door. At 4:30a, very loud "hammering" started. Terrible. I think the "U" shape of the building amplified the sound. Every 5 minutes!
OK at $0-$20 per night.

It was a huge mess last time I stayed there, so I've been staying somewhere else my last few vegas trips. The outside looked ok and I gather that most, if not all of the construction is done but the room updates are still a work in progress.
I'll be going again in a few weeks for nearly two weeks with the first week somewhere else and the interim weekend/following week at The Quad. Will report back with my findings.
In the mean time, suggestions on picking a room at "the new quad" are welcome.
ETA: the weekend is booked separately from the following week. Weekend is booked direct while the week is through show services as "resort fee optional". Think I'll be able to check once for the full stay and not pay any resort fee?

The places is such a dump that I can't imagine them letting the rooms and corridors go much longer without fixing them up in the not-too-distant future. The phrase " lipstick on a pig" comes to mind for this whole remodel. A cheap room with a bed, shower and head suits my needs for most of my trips to LV. It would be a lot more palatable if the Q didn't do the resort fee thing that they started as of late.
