I agree that Omicron should put its shoulder to the wheel and get on with it as quickly as possible, but travel has been possible all through the pandemic. A bit more planning, creativity and effort were at times required, but not all that much, and some countries were of course inaccessible at times. Testing requirements and lots of (mostly silly) rules were and still are a pain, but picking the right destinations minimizes the annoyance.
Many no doubt have cogent and compelling reasons for not venturing abroad, but for those who did not, or were just happy to take their chances, there was no shortage of destinations to visit. I was initially surprised at the number of aged and disabled travelers I encountered on planes, in trains, on ships, at hotels, etc, but only in the beginning.

Considering I took this job with the view of it being travel heavy, not much of a successful move in that regard.
Still not sure whether this is something I should consider in the future, or just go ahead and go for a one-location job.
