Yep... Reportedly a couple hundred people showed up for the Ruslan in Pardubice when it brought medical equipment to the Czech Republic. And they have quite a long stricter measures in there then NL. I have a feeling it's gonna be packed with people who just "went for a walk far away from residential areas"...

Farewell, beautiful bird. Sad this is the way we're saying goodbye. I'll miss 'em.

I seem to be drawn to the MEX-AMS flight currently in the air, on flightradar24. What a sad day indeed !

I'm playing EHAM ATC in the background. The aircraft is arriving now at AMS.

Just listening to LIveATC "KLM 72 Yankee voor de laatste keer". He had a nice exchange with approach thanking them for everything.

Judging by the large number of airport vehicles surrounding the aircraft at gate E19 - we'll be getting pictures soon

I forgot AMS had LiveATC. I followed her on FR24 until landing and caught a few screen captures.
Goodbye beautiful KLM Big Blue 747-400s and Combi.
Thank you for all the good work though all the years.

You will be missed by many.

+1 on a sad day. I wish there could've been a more special moment, but at this point we would be happy if our airlines survive.

Anyone have any super memorable flights / memories they want to share?

Flew to Panama on my birthday last year. Halfway during the flight the crew came with presents, a small cake and sang for me. Some passengers joined in and we drank probably all the champagne. I had no idea and was surprised they knew it was my birthday.

Also met some 'celebs' on flights. Mostly ignored but once I was flying back from JRO and sat next to Richard Roundtree and we had a really nice long talk about our familiar industries. And he is absolutely not the person we know from the movies!

And he like the houses so I gave him mine too.

If KLM has indeed retired its 747 fleet permanently, why haven't they updated their schedules? MEX-AMS and YYZ-AMS in May, for instance, both show 747s operating these flights and the seat maps are of 747s.
