TV worked fine on the 320, but only barely on the 190 (some channels OK, but video for most pretty scrambled).

Overall, both of those cabins were in among the worst shape (appearance wise) I've seen in 9 years of flying B6 so I guess these refurbs can't come soon enough.
It should be, since the LTV4-equipped Phase I's and the A321s all have XM.

That said, on the unmodified planes with LTV2/2.1, the XM often doesn't work (as you experienced). Sometimes a hard reset helps, and even then it takes an extra 10-20 minutes for the XM to come back.

I'm willing to sacrifice less baggage space in favor of XM

Interestingly enough, N686JB came back first despite being the third to arrive of the five aircraft that are currently at SAL. N583JB and N585JB were both sent to SAL before N686JB, yet 686 came back first.

I don't see any flights scheduled or planned for SAL yet to take 686's place.

I imagine the work will slow down as the holidays approach, since they need the planes flying more than they want to update them.

N583JB is back! It returned on Sunday afternoon, and has not re-entered service yet.

N827JB arrived at SAL 11/19. N827JB will be the first sharklet A320 to receive the cabin refresh.

N796JB will return soon. No word on N585JB.

It would be interesting to see how long it takes them to refurbish the newer A320s (703 and higher) compared to older ones, considering the PSUs, overhead bins, and wall and ceiling panels are already up to spec. I'd imagine many of the bins would be replaced since a lot of them have paint chipping or are just very dirty.

N703JB falls under "To be updated." It probably went to LCQ or SAL in the past, but didn't get a new cabin, and I didn't put it back on that list.

N796JB and N585JB came back. N705JB went to SAL. We are now up to 25 Phase 2s.

N651JB - Returned 12/2
N709JB - Went to SAL 12/2 but it's not on the cabin refresh list.
N652JB - Went to SAL 12/5

I wonder if they're going to refurb the A321ceos as well. I had one flying home SJU-BOS this morning and it wasn't great. No wifi since we flew a direct route over the ocean, entertainment was limited, and the interface was just sluggish compared to the Phase 2 A320 that I flew to SJU on last week. The LiveTV cut out once we went past Florida, but least I had wifi the whole way.

The A321s, along with the 32M Phase Is, will not be refurbished with the AVANT system... at least not anytime soon. It's a shame because LTV4 is a slow, clunky system. At least it has XM radio, though

705 came back, 547 went to SAL. We are now up to 29 Phase 2s, and 49 overall out of 130.
