Amenity kits on Request now

I am onboard flight 687 from Boston to LA now (Oct 30 9am departure).
No amenity kit was pre-placed on my seat, so I asked for one after takeoff.
Apparently amenity kit is on request now and I presume it has the same "environmental" logic like SQ. I also presume it is a North American transcontinental MInt things only. My flight from LGW to BOS a few days ago had the amenity kits pre-placed at each seat. Anyway, just ask for it if you don't see one. I have another JetBlue Mint flight next week and will see if amenity kit is on demand too.

Gastro Glossary
Crème Anglaise – French term for “English cream,” a pouring custard used as a dessert sauce.

Honestly it was a very disappointed breakfast with lack of quantity! JetBlue really needs to serve a pre-arrival light meal – a fruit and cheese plate will be nice, or enhanced the breakfast service with more food. A real fruit bowl will be appreciated instead of this overly sweet pear soaked in syrup dish. The poached egg dish was really too small. Thankfully I had a big breakfast prior to the flight.

Good to know. I had a Mint flight last Wednesday and amenity kits were indeed available on demand. I had another Mint flight last Saturday, and the amenity kit was placed on the seat.

Impressive hard product

Margarita with spicy kick!

Three entrees shrimp/chicken/lamb all flavorful

Sweet pepper sauce is risqué but it works!

I had this on my JFK-SEA last night and also thought it worked really well; I’d not paid attention to the sauce in the description so only looked after tasting and thinking it was tasty and unique.

The wedge was a bit disappointing, as it was too lemony, but the chicken more than made up for it - the best dish I’ve had on a plane in quite some time.

Eastbound lunch October/November

No PDB but there was an amenity kit.

Margarita and breadsticks

Delicata squash, fluke, and chicken paillard

Delicata squash - ricotta, pepitas, fried sage. The squash was very sweet, don’t know if it’s from the sauce that was drizzled on top or natural.

Fluke - braised leek sauce, rosemary potato crumble. Delicious flavor, everything went well together.

Chicken paillard - fennel, cherry tomatoes, arugula, lemon vinaigrette. Pretty good, I ended up putting everything inside the bread to make a sandwich.

Vanilla gelato - lemon marmalata, coconut shortbread. Yummy!

Ended up picking the same 3 items as BOS-LAX flyer earlier, did not disappoint. No amenity kits though!

Looks like December-January menus are still not posted. If anyone has eastbound/westbound lunch/dinner menus to share, I'm flying soon!

Yup! I'm particularly looking forward to the bananas foster topping for the gelato . I'm always pleased with the pork shoulder too. Interesting to see both eastbound and westbound have shrimp as the seafood choice though, not as much variety as usual.

Wish my flights had those options.
JFK-LIR (I'm *assuming* is considered west/southbound) for breakfast has a less than appealing option (IMO). I think I may order the Plane Eats menu for that.
The LIR-JFK return however (evening) doesn't look too bad though.

Wish the cocktails were more varied, but then again I'm not a big whiskey/gin fan (hello Vodka--haha).
Does JetBlue still allow you to BYOB and they open it for you? I could go with the cranberry and vodka and add my own cointreau and lime for a makeshift Cosmo.

Westbound breakfast Dec 22/Jan 23

On time boarding, but gate agent reversed the lines 🤦🏻‍♂️ so the people hogging the lines before boarding had to swap lines. Love how the zone C people clog the lines for Mosaic/Mint 😠

No PDB, nor introduction to Mint seat features to passengers new to Mint. Never greeted by name during boarding or during the flight. I slept thru a good chunk of the flight so I don’t know how attentive they were to the cabin. Mint FA forgot my meal for some reason and was surprised 🤦🏻‍♂️. It was a less than stellar Mint experience.

Anyway, on to the food:

Maple glazed bacon, smoked trout, farro pancakes, and spinach frittata

Smoked trout - endive, whipped ricotta, red wine vinaigrette, bagel crostini. The smoked trout by itself is very salty, better to have with the whipped ricotta and endive over the crostini.

Farro pancakes - roasted cinnamon apples, maple syrup. Pretty decent with the maple glazed bacon.

Spinach frittata - herb salad. A little bland after having the smoked trout.

Thanks for the pics! I was wondering what smoked trout would look like, as well as the frittata. Definitely going with the "plane" meal for breakfast. haha.
That's too bad though that they really fell down (IMO) on the service. You pay a lot (IMO) for Mint and they don't even seem to care/offer the level of service that they should. Which city did you depart from, if you don't mind me asking.
