Question Yakiniku

Any recommendations for Tokyo (Ginza and the Shibuya-Meguro-Roppongi triangle) and the Yamanakako/5 lakes region? Whatever the locals consider of decent, maybe even above average, not high-end or top-of-the-line.

Thanks!

Yoroniku is quite popular these days. Very tasty and easy to book with two locations in Ometesando and Ebisu.

We live near Ginza and we eat at the following places regularly:

Beef Specialty: Gyuan - Beef Specialty You do have to take off your shoes and seating is low and Japanese style...
Close to Gyuan and a bit more private: Close by -- more private and fancy
Cheap and Cheerful - our go to place as we live in Hatchobori: Yakinuku So

and if you want to take a walk on the wild side -- this is our favorite Gibier place: Jibie Wana Deer, Wild Boar, Pheasant, Bear, etc...

+1 from me! This is only a few blocks from our Japanese distributor -- and Ebisu is one of our favorite places to eat in all of Tokyo -- just a bit of a haul from our place!

I know this is a bit of a fast food salaryman type chain but just to add a place worth trying, "Tasty, Good, Quick" is nice place to hop in to for some quick yakiniku. It's all tablet run from the booth with english available, you don't really even talk to anyone and the meat was solid imho.

It’s a chain but I’m a sucker for all you can eat Gyu kaku. The original one is in Shinjuku but they’re all over.

There are lots of good options, but overall given what you've stated I would highly recommend Ushigoro Nishiazabu (and specifically that one of their multiple locations). On top of the normal courses which are great, for the options I recommend going with the curry (you can get solid korean noodles anywhere, so go for the curry). And for dessert, the sweet potato is a perfect way to end.

The 1man course is a LOT of food; I recommend the 8000yen or if people aren't sure you can do the 6000yen and always do some a la carte addons depending on what people end up really liking.

I am a sucker for charcoal yakiniku joints. It’s outside your triangle slightly, but I love Banya in Shinagawa.

Outstanding value at lunch.

I'll toss in another one I enjoyed, Tokori in Asakusa. Wagyu yakiniku. Pricey, but the great food. https://tabelog.com/en/tokyo/A1311/A131102/13037505/

That looks awesome,

On my last trip I discovered that yakiniku goes really well with sake, it's reached another level for me now.

Thanks. Shinagawa on the Yamanote is well in range. I'll consider it.
