Yakiniku
Any recommendations for Tokyo (Ginza and the Shibuya-Meguro-Roppongi triangle) and the Yamanakako/5 lakes region? Whatever the locals consider of decent, maybe even above average, not high-end or top-of-the-line.
Thanks! |
Yoroniku is quite popular these days. Very tasty and easy to book with two locations in Ometesando and Ebisu.

I know this is a bit of a fast food salaryman type chain but just to add a place worth trying, "Tasty, Good, Quick" is nice place to hop in to for some quick yakiniku. It's all tablet run from the booth with english available, you don't really even talk to anyone and the meat was solid imho.

It’s a chain but I’m a sucker for all you can eat Gyu kaku. The original one is in Shinjuku but they’re all over.

The meat at Tasty! Quick! Value!, aka Yakiniku ライク, was delicious! Recommended.

There are lots of good options, but overall given what you've stated I would highly recommend Ushigoro Nishiazabu (and specifically that one of their multiple locations). On top of the normal courses which are great, for the options I recommend going with the curry (you can get solid korean noodles anywhere, so go for the curry). And for dessert, the sweet potato is a perfect way to end.
The 1man course is a LOT of food; I recommend the 8000yen or if people aren't sure you can do the 6000yen and always do some a la carte addons depending on what people end up really liking. |

MIght as well just eat at McDonalds. |
I am a sucker for charcoal yakiniku joints. It’s outside your triangle slightly, but I love Banya in Shinagawa.
Outstanding value at lunch. https://s.tabelog.com/en/tokyo/A1314/A131403/13040578/ |
I'll toss in another one I enjoyed, Tokori in Asakusa. Wagyu yakiniku. Pricey, but the great food. https://tabelog.com/en/tokyo/A1311/A131102/13037505/
