Seems like it's easier to get Japanese Whiskey at home these days. Picked up 4x Yamazaki 12 for $130 at my local Bevmo and 2x Hakushu 12 for $99 at Costco (Bay Area, CA).

I'll sneak in a reply before this discussion gets removed by mods.

I also saw pretty much every BevMo in the Bay Area had stock this morning. I wouldn't say they're necessarily getting easier to buy, but on average we do get 1-2 large shipments by boat from Suntory and they are not too hard to come across during that time.

Wow, that is close to what they are selling NV Hakushu in some places here. That also jives with some of the Harmony prices I see listed in the US for under $100, which is exactly what they cost here in most shops.

It sounds like this is all an artificial bubble, driven by businesses planning to suck up the supply and then auction it off.

On a similar note, I found Hakushu NV yesterday at an Aeon for ¥4500. Limit one per person per day.

Hibiki Limited 21 just arrived in Malaysia with by Jetspree order, and I have tracking of it having been posted. With travel restricted I figured a Y10,000 premium is worth the extra. They are booking at 25 year Yamazaki for me at a 10 percent fee - figured thats a deal as Daikokuya is bidding 750,000.

So how much does this come out to? Are you nervous at all about whether it will actually arrive?

Wow, I didn't know there's such online platform like that. It is more than Y10,000 premium for Hibiki 21 LE but I guess the price is still not too terrible.

Yen 61,000 for the Limited that is Yen 50,000 Duty free. The usual 21 years is Yen 75,000 on Amazon, with the LE around Yen 110,000 or so. I am waiting with envy, and if this works out then it opens up a new world for duty free shopping agents! Let's hope the Olympics increases the passenger traffic so they get enough agents.

Incidentally, any photos of the haul from your last business trip abroad?

Yes, you pay duty on the inbound - so it really only works for limited editions.

Liquor Mountain Ginza did a lottery for lucky bags today. It actually crashed their website for the first hour after the lottery was open for applications....
Top prizes are Hibiki 30 and Nikka Taketsuru 25. For Y15,000 and you get two bottles in each bag. Anyone here put in for it?
Good luck if you did apply!!

Currently in Narita T2 waiting patiently for the shops to open at 830am. There's a sign out that says limit 1 bottle for the popular ones per person

Update:
Was able to score (from the JAL shop) a Yamazaki 18, they had hibiki 21 as well .
The Fasola shops had them on display but with a sold out sticker. Salesperson was hesitant when I asked when they would put them up for sale.
