Singapore

IC Singapore

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, excellent.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest deluxe, got the usual x-02 L-suite. I had two lengthy stays this year and was able to negotiate Club access too.

How are the rooms?
Good sized and L-shaped. They have just begun renovation so no point in going into detail because it will be all new soon enough.

How is the exec. lounge?
Excellent with great service and food. It has been busy this year, but there is enough space and only once did I have no choice but to sit with another couple. But that's usually a good thing.

Did you receive a welcome gift?
Stuffed lion and daily fruit bowl with two bottles of Evian.

How was the minibar?
Same as it's been for about 10 years now. Beer, liquor, juice, Perrier, Coco water, etc. But no wine.

What was good and what was bad?

-Good
Club access and great service.
My favorite location in Singapore, plus right above the metro.

-Bad
Nothing.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Yes.

Actually I ask for Executive room with balcony as my partner prefers the terrace (for smoking but also the pleasure of the terrace).

The hotel is not in the very centre of Dublin, but you can reach it in less than 20 minutes walk.
Bus stop just next the hotel. Taxi ride is less than EUR 10 from city centre
Taxi drive to the airport with Uber is EUR 40

IC Nha Trang

IC Nha Trang

What is your IHG Rewards Club status?
Platinum Royal Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, very

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive:
Booked cheapest, they offered the same xx04 room we had before for a reasonable additional charge which we accepted. Normal upgrade should be thexx05 which only has a relatively small window.

How are the rooms?
New, modern, The xx04 suite view is absolutely stunning (highly recommended to get this room type). Separate bedroom, living room and bathroom (great 270 degree ocean view even from the bathtub)

How is the exec. lounge?
Good location and great view. Service was much better this time. Food selections ok, but not as good as the IC Saigon.

Did you receive a welcome gift?
Yes, a relative useless small paper notebook, fruit basket (not refilled), 2 bottles of water on the first day and some chocolates. Also 3 pieces of laundry free per stay.

How was the minibar?
It is average with some bigger size bottles of liquor.

What was good and what was bad?

-Good
Very friendly, hotel has improved even more (this was our 4th visit.
Location and view is good (in the center of town across the main road from the beach). Lots of things in walking distance.
Nice room, view

-Bad
Nha Trang is a destination for package deal tourists mainly from the former soviet union. They can create a very unpleasant atmosphere in some outside restaurants (the IC is not affected)

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Hotel is still relatively inexpensive, but so is everything in Nha Trang (seems they have overbuild there)

Would you return?
Yes.

IC Asiana Saigon Residence

IC Asiana Saigon Residence (not the regular IC Saigon)

What is your Priority Club status?
Royal Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay ?
It was ok

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked 1 bedroom apartment, received 1 bedroom apartment - they seem to have only one and two bedroom apartments with not much differences. Booked there because the regular IC had pretty insane prices (almost triple of normal) and the Residence still was only a tad more expensive than the normal room at the IC

How are the rooms?
Spacious and comfortable, similar to the normal SUites in the IC. Insted of the small extra toilet there is a room with a washer/dryer.

Did you receive a welcome gift
- Gift was a lacquer plate (same as what they have at the OC)
- Fruit basket and some chocolates
- tray with nuts (same as in the IC) and bottle of red

How was the minibar
- relatively poor

How is the exec. lounge?
N/A, also no upgrade to the IC lounge

What was good and what was bad?

Good
- friendly and helpful staff
- connected to the IC via a small shopping mall

Bad
- Had to argue about minibar charges next morning. Agent insisted that minibar is not free

Would you return
Most likely not, since the IC normally is a much better deal (regular room gibes upgrade to a suite which is a tad nicer than the 1 bedroom apartment), also club and breakfast in the IC. If the IC is sold out or we need a washer/dryer: yes.
