Yes.

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest, upgraded 2 categories to King Club on Club Floor

How are the rooms?
Comfortable, nothing outlandish. Bathroom has shower and oversize tub (no Jacuzzi).

How is the exec. lounge?
Good. Continental breakfast plus eggs and bacon and oatmeal.
Afternoon snacks, dried fruits.
Dinnertime, fairly big selection - enough snacks to feed you if you don't fee; like going out.

Did you receive a welcome gift?
Fruit basket, with some nuts and dried fruits, water.

How was the minibar?
Above average selection, white, red and champagne. Could do better on beers.

What was good and what was bad?

-Good
Friendly.
Great Bourbon bar and southern restaurant.
Above average Club
Good location if you want to do stuff in Buckhead; walk one block to the MARTA station (which goes to the High Museum and to the Airport)

-Bad
$24 for garage parking, ten bucks or so more for valet, is a bit high for a suburban area.
Club was rather full over the weekend, a number of families with kids; ran out of table space to eat and some of the food ran out.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Weekend rates are good.

Would you return?

  • Club upgrade

The rooms facing the street are not really silent (old designer windows), so if you need a silent room, ask for the city and not river view

What is your IHG Rewards Club status?
Platinum Royal Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Once again, a terrific stay.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive:
Lowest level, on an embarrassingly low rate for any top hotel in SF, upgraded to junior suite-4 level UPG, again.

How are the rooms?
NE corner large king bed room on the 29th fl with an excellent view and great open feeling. Great lighting as well. This one had a separate shower plus a bathtub.

How is the exec. lounge?
Also fantastic with an outside smoking area. Great food, free drinks, what more do you want? Breakfast is not elaborate and no egg station for freshly made items, but plenty of meats, bread items and pastries, as well as fruit and cereals. Well before my arrival date, I had received a phone call from a woman from the Lounge staff, asking about the occasion, coming back so soon after my Jan 1 stay. Nice touch.

Did you receive a welcome gift?
The usual, a bowl of fruit, dried fruits, nuts, but no chocolates. Hmmm, were they aware that I was on a diet?

How was the minibar?
Again, The best stocked of any IC I've ever stayed at. And, we had a small party before going out for the evening, and my 28 year old son and his friend couldn't even finish it all.

What was good and what was bad?

-Good
Location, very close to transportation, shopping, cultural activities.
Posh, tasteful hotel, I like it much better than the GH where I used to stay.

-Bad
Nothing

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Excellent price, great F&B in the Lounge, great rooms with fantastic views.

Would you return?
Definitely, especially now that my younger son moved into the city, as this is a very convenient place to be, So of Market, but close to BART etc. Now if parking was just a bit lower, but it's SF.

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, excellent.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest deluxe, got Superior Junior Suite with wrap around harbor and city views. And Club access. #1201.

How are the rooms?
Huge. There's nothing junior about this suite. Double entry doors, long hallway, massive bathroom with changing area, etc.

How is the exec. lounge?
One of the best. Great personal service and not a hint of wanting to limit your consumption. Quite the opposite in fact.

Did you receive a welcome gift?
Box of high end tea and the usual fruit bowl.

How was the minibar?
Excellent as usual.

What was good and what was bad?

-Good
The best new thing is RA's get Club and better upgrades.

-Bad
Nothing.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Pricey, but worth it.

IC Bangkok
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Usual great experience (Split stay as sold out so I could not extend/join my RES's)

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
o Booked Base Entry room on excellent company rate
o online upgrade to Club Room with 36hours (as usual fromBase room)
(I prefer the single-room Club Room to the 2-room corner/end suites which they know/record)

How are the rooms?
Well furnished, comfortable. High floor club rooms are not overlooked by other nearby buildings

How is the exec. lounge?
One of the best. Staff friendly and proactive with food, drinks

Fruit and Water ?
Already in room on arrival with welcome letters

Did you receive a welcome gift?
o wine and new gift (loin cloth ... for all guests whether M or F)
o drinks voucher
(I later asked the Lounge staff and was "secretly" given the usual Teddy Bear, I guess those will be exhausted very soon)

How was the minibar?
Super, the usual 5x 1/4 bottles of spirits and plenty of colas etc, with my minibar already upgraded to dietcokes from normal sodas before arrival

What was good and what was bad?
+Good
o all bennies without having to ask i
o Including 4pm checkout both times (I never get disturbed by phones or door knocks here ^)
o lounge access as always for an RA
o All IHG'ers whatever elite status get premium internet here

- Bad
Nothing (as usual).

Neutral
I could not add days before/post my 3night booking as CNY week to join up/extend my seconr RES, I did ask but was told (very nicely, and not unreasonably so) sorry but lowest rate would be 10800baht++ the final rate base rooms sold for and I would get my upgrades.
(Obviously I would never expect company rate which is the lowest corporate rate IC BKK provide... On the bright side this gave me excuse to try out both Hilton Sukhumvit + Millennium as even there I could not get concurrent nights)

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
On my paid company rate , excellent (a steal even), especially as IC Bangkok had totally sold out for Chinese New Year post making my nights/reservation(s) a steal. Not even worth using a bogo cert here !

Smile IC Manila

IC Manila

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Usual great treatment & experience (actually better room upgrade than ever before)

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
o Booked Award Basic room on 35K Points for 1night
o online upgrade to Junior Suite within 24hours (as usual)
o Still showed as J/S at 10am when I boarded flight from Bangkok but on checkin at IC Manila lounge I received a further double upgrade to Exec Suite (my first Exec Suite here)
(Rooms go... J/suite, Premier Suite, Exec Suite, State Suite, Presidential Suite)
o I had to extend 2nights (1night at a time (Paid)) and was offered Exec Suite continuation (and an Exec Suite swap for night 3 as a Guest had specifically reserved the Exec Suite room I was in)

How are the rooms?
Unlike Premier the Exec is two separate room, similar total size, with living room being much larger than bedroom, two entrance ways, two full bathrooms, two minibars (one was empty though) .

How is the exec. lounge?
o One of the best. Staff friendly and proactive with food, drinks
o Lounge access allows breakfast at Jeepney Restaurant instead (although I had to ask that the Jeepney b/f fee was removed on checkout)
o Very good evening offerings of nibbles/drinks 2hour slot
o Breakfast in Lounge is fine, no real need to use Jeepney restaurant
o Bagels for breakfast with Salmon and Cream Cheese (one of my favourites) and I don't know of any other non-US IC with bagels !

Fruit and Water ?
Already in room on arrival with welcome letters

Did you receive a welcome gift?
o Yes at checkin in lounge (hilite'r pen set)
o drinks voucher (stapled to welcome letter)

How was the minibar?
Usual 6 or so minatures, sodas, beer, water

What was good and what was bad?
+Good
o all bennies without having to ask on Award stays (as well as on Paid stays)
o Including 4pm checkout both times (I never get disturbed by phones or door knocks here in Manila)
o Lounge access provides Restaurant breakfast option at zero cost
o lounge access as always for an RA, + minimum upgrade of a J/Suite whether Paid/Award res

- Bad
Nothing (as usual).

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
35K points not great use of points, hence only one award night and I booked the other nights 15% off at about $170 when I had to extend my stay
Definitely value for money compared to Europe IC rates I have to pay ^ and is value even if just given a J/suite with Lounge access

InterContinental Marseille

What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum Royal Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Not really

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard room with winter sale (although best rates are available), they tried to give me the "standard upgrade" to an executive room (http://youhavebeenupgraded.boardinga...le-hotel-dieu/) which is really really small. After some discussions received an "upgrade" to a junior suite, which was the executive room, without terrace. After another discussion received a junior suite with terrace. Really strange behavior, the hotel was empty ...

How are the rooms?

Really, really small. This was by no means a junior suite. A room, with a bathroom with a window. No writing desk, only two chairs and a table, that's it. And in winter you can't use the terrace, it's also getting cold in Marseille.

Some pictures:
http://youhavebeenupgraded.boardinga...-hotel-dieu-2/

How is the exec. lounge?
No lounge, you receive a voucher for two drinks (champagne, cocktail etc.) at the bar.

What was your welcome gift?
Nothing

Did you receive fruit in the room?
No

What was good and what was bad?
Good
  • Minibar has a good selection
  • Terrace is nice (but you can't use it in winter)
  • View
  • Design (very modern)
  • Pool, spa and fitness is really cool
  • Location
  • Building

Bad
  • Upgrade (they really don't know the difference between Royal Ambassador and Ambassador ...)
  • Discussions
  • Manager: "and you think you walk into a hotel and receive a suite upgrade ..."
  • Breakfast (crowded, small restaurant, strange waiters)
  • Housekeeping calls (every 30 minutes from 1-4 pm)

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Yes with best rate, wouldn't pay for this hotel.

Would you return?
No, don't expect too much.

What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum Royal Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard room (free nights) received Alpine executive.

How are the room?
Simply fabulous!
Very comfortable bed with beautiful linen
Sitting area with sofa and 2 chairs.
Luxurious bathroom with free standing tub and separate shower, double vanity, heated floor.
Wrap round balcony with amazing views of the mountains.

How is the exec. lounge?
Beautiful room but completely dead. Not open for breakfast due to the limited occupancy (we could have breakfast in the main restaurant instead), dead in the evening. We were there 4 nights and I think we only saw 2 other people.

What was your welcome gift?
Actually not sure what it is, and have not tasted, looks like a mini bottle of some local liqueur with a little bag of bird seed attached???

Did you receive fruit in the room?
Yes, not replinished.
We also got 2 bottles of water, replenished every day.

What was good and what was bad?
Good
Upgrade
View
Hardware: room, spa, pool
Service (I have seen some less than positive reviews but in my experience the service- from pick up at the train station, check in, restaurants, shuttle to and from ski lifts- was perfect).

Bad
Due to the limited occupancy the lounge, bars and restaurants were all lacking in atmosphere, it did not bother us enough to make the trip into town in the evening.

Value for $ or Priority Club Point?
Using free nights and getting upgrade, free breakfast and all RA benefits yes, undoubtedly.
The room we were upgraded to was selling for a CHF 1,600 a night at the tail end of the ski season. Good as the experience was I don't think this price is justified.

Would you return?
Yes

IC Double Bay Sydney

IC Double Bay Sydney

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a club room, got a suite overlooking the courtyard. My husband had been in another room but got moved to this slightly bigger suite after complaining that the carpet was wet (from cleaning I think).

How are the rooms?
Very nice. Our suite had a powder room with a shower as well as a full bathroom. The showers are hidden behind both doors though. At first I thought where is the shower? L'Occitane amenities in the bathrooms which makes a nice change from Agraria (or whatever that brand is)

How is the exec. lounge?
Small and pleasant, but not a patch on Sydney IC of course because of the views. Unfortunately as I didn't join my husband until after my flight arrived at 9pm I never got to experience evening drinks and canapés. Breakfast was nice. Order your eggs but other hot food available. expect to wait a bit though.

Mentioned that they were starting an afternoon high tea, alas we were checking out that day!

Did you receive a welcome gift?
L'Occitane gift box.

How was the minibar?
Full size Perrier Jouet champagne I noticed. Never had time to drink anything out of it though as we went out for a drink when I arrived and were both shattered and went straight to bed when we got back to hotel.

What was good and what was bad?

-Good
I like the pool area. It is small though and not many deck chairs for lounging so it could be first in first served in weekends.

-Bad
Nothing really to my eye. My husband was a bit miffed about no one coming to investigate the wet carpet issue and had some words! He'd come off a 16 hr flight though so could have been a bit grumpy

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
We paid for club but hard to say if worth it or not.

Would you return?
If I wanted to be somewhere a little quieter yes. Our preference will be Sydney IC in future as we like being in the city. We only stayed at Double Bay because there were only several thousand $$ suites left in town because of the cricket.

IC Sydney

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
yes, prompt checkin at reception. Room not ready at 1.30pm but we went up to the club and had a cup of tea while we waited for room. They did offer us another room to check in to while we waited but as they said the guest had checked out of the room we were getting we were happy to wait while the cleaning was being finished.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Club, got a corner suite on 24th floor.

How are the rooms?
Good, nice and spacious. Separate powder room as well as full bathroom.

How is the exec. lounge?
Never get bored of the view. Personally I think service could be improved at times. I went up for breakfast one morning without my husband and I may as well have been invisible which totally gets on my nerves. I had to ask twice for a pot of tea, and by the time my husband joined me close to 25 minutes after my arrival I still didn't have a cup of tea. NOT GOOD as it makes me a grumpy cow all day! evening drinks though they were good at keeping our drinks refilled. Canape selection was ok.

Did you receive a welcome gift?
fruit and bottle of red wine - seems to be the usual.

How was the minibar?
Small bottle of Mumm champagne. didn't drink anything from minibar on this trip. I'm losing my touch!

What was good and what was bad?

-Good

-Bad
Patchy service in club.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
yes, I think it's reasonable value. Bit better with NZ $ rate as it is currently.

Would you return?
We always seem to.
