IHG Accelerate Fall / End of year promotion 2015

Stay dates 1 September 2015 and 31 December 2015, inclusive.

Offer page: http://www.ihg.com/content/us/en/off...ffer/dashboard

FAQ:

Q: Is there any way to change to different offers?
A: No.

Q: Can the same stay count towards multiple offers?
A: Yes, as long as it meets the terms of the individual offers, it will count for all of them. The same stay can count towards staying once, staying more, staying at a brand, staying on a weekend, booking with the app, paying with the credit card, and so on.

Q: Really? Seems too easy.
A: Yes, really.

Q: Do Cash and Points rates count as qualifying stays/nights?
A: No. Neither do award nights.

Q: How long does it take for completed items to show on the dashboard?
A: Various posters say their activities took 1 to 14 days to show.

Q: For "Change Your View" offer, can I stay at the same Holiday Inn more than once?
A: No, the stays must each be at different hotels to count separately.

Q: For "Change Your View" offer, does Holiday Inn Express count as a Holiday Inn?
A: No, Holiday Inn Express and Holiday Inn are different brands.

Q: For "Discover Our Brands" offer, can I count both Holiday Inn Express and Holiday Inn separately?
A: Yes, Holiday Inn Express and Holiday Inn are different brands.

Q: For "Eat, Drink and Earn" offer, must the food and beverage spend amount be a single transaction?
A: No, you can spread the spend amount across multiple transactions and multiple stays, to achieve the required total.

Q: If check in is in August, but check out is on September 1, will that count at all?
A: It appears that checkouts on September do not qualify.

Q: If check in is in August, but check out is after September 1, will that count at all?
A: No, check in must be Sept 1 or later. For stays starting in August and ending September 2 or later, it appears the September 1st and onward nights do count (e.g. Aug xx to Sep 3 = 2 nights).

Q: Do I need to make my reservations after September 1?
A: No, you can book now, or use bookings from before the promo was announced, as long as the stays are consumed starting Sept 1.

My GFs account is Gold Ambassador (2 nights only so far this year):

1) 5,000 Stay Once Get 5,000
Thank you for being a loyal IHG® Rewards Club member. Stay once and earn 5,000 bonus points.

2) 11,600 Stay More, Earn More
Get closer to the rewards you want when you stay 7 night(s) and earn 11,600 bonus points.

3) 4,000 A Bonus Weekend Stay
Stay with us for the weekend and earn 4,000 bonus points. A Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday night stay required.

4) 2,200 Eat, Drink and Earn
Spend $200 on food or beverages at IHG® hotels and earn 2,200 bonus points.

5) 1,000 Donate points to Charity
Donate points to IHG® Shelter in a Storm, our disaster relief program, and receive 1,000 points.

6) 26,200 Your Achievement Bonus
Complete 5 of 5 offers and earn (an additional) 26,200 bonus points.

1) and 3) are doable based on current plans. 4) would work if spa will count (going to stay at a resort), but I'm assuming it does not. 5) is interesting and needs exploring. I mean if one can donate 1K points and get them replenished it is a wash and something goes for a good cause. Will see. Unfortunately I don't think 2) will be manageable so that will be it.

i just meant when you pay for a room you get points on the room rate.

so do you get points based on the cash amount you spent?

but as you said i was correct in that it is none qualifying that answers my question anyway. thank you.

it seems a silly hurdle get nothing except 3600 points for three stays.

Well ... you would get three sets of Welcome Amenity points!

I think the idea is that those stays would be part of the total for completing all requirements, not the 3600 points in themselves.

For the new member offer, stay 2 and get 1 free night, are there any cap or maximum number of free night each member can earn during the promotion period?

IHG is the exception, so far anyway, in having the best promos only targeted to those who haven't been doing paid stays much.
In the same boat here.

I rather not stay with IHG for a paid rate (or put in another way - the places I want to go and stay with IHG - I would not pay the going rate and use points).

I use the Chase annual card, a few points redemption and the (very) occasional paid night when it make sense financially or there are really no other options around (and when I don't care about benefits).

While I sat down the last two promotions, it seems I can trust that the Q4 promotion each year would be something that is both worth doing and easy to do (last year it was 2 free nights for 2 stays, this year it would be almost 50K points for one night stay). All are very easy to do and the benefits outshine the cost many times over.

It is king of ironic that the program has the best promos, yet only under special circumstances I would actually consider paying for a room in it.

My offer:

1,000 for 1st stay
6800 for 5 nights
3600 for 3 stays using points and cash
1,500 for using credit card

37,100 for doing 3 out of 4

It isn't a terrible offer but I don't think it will work with my travel plans. The cash and points option is lame. Doing it once would be okay, but 3 times would make it a poor value.

Agree C&P is poor, but your offer is 3 of 4. If you can do 5 nights, the total bonus is 46K. Not worth mattress running for, but if you have trips upcoming anyway, that's a pretty good bonus.

My wife's offer is interesting:

5,000 Stay Once Get 5,000

10,200 Stay More, Earn More (5 Nights)

2,300 Spend on your IHG® Rewards Club Credit Card

5,000 Become an Ambassador Member

27,500 Your Achievement Bonus (Complete 3 of 4)

If I'm reading this correctly, she could spend 32,000 points to become Ambassador plus have a 1 night stay somewhere and earn 39,800 points.

So, it's sort of like getting Ambassador for free.

Funny, I am dirt to IHG (stay 1 or 2 nights per year) nowhere near Spire Ambassador, yet I got virtually the same offer (only exception is that I get 6,000 for the first 3 nights vs 5,000 above). I moved a Marriott November (before Megabonus starts) to IHG for the 10,000 pt bonus; pretty nice.

Q: Do I need to make my reservations after September 1?
A: No, you can book now, or use bookings from before the promo was announced, as long as the stays are consumed starting Sept 1.

Really???? Have this been confirmed by IHG staff???

My best friend is dirt on IHG too and got a similar offer that is hard to do. So, maybe they do appreciate us "real customers" once a while

I inquired on social media, and that was their answer.
