- What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum Ambassador

- Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Not really.

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard room got given standard room.

- How are the rooms?
Typical HIX room.

- How is the exec. lounge?
N/A

- What was good and what was bad?
Nothing particularly good,

The staff were apathetic showing little in providing any customer service. Make no mistake this hotel is quite far out of the town opposite a retail park and with very little else around it. A taxi to the city centre is about 15 Euros and there are few public transport options as an alternative.

Bizarrely the hotel's restaurant, such as it is, is closed on Sunday evenings.

- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Possibly if they had the rate of 39 Euros which we paid

- What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum Ambassador

- Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes and very surprisingly.

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard room got given a suite with a sea view.

- How are the rooms?
Small but quite cosy.

- How is the exec. lounge?
N/A

- What was good and what was bad?

We booked this hotel as part of a touring holiday and were planning on a couple of days rest and relaxation even though it was off season.

After a few wobbles = there is only one pool yet the hotel web site described two pools - one indoor and one outdoor but in reality there is a retractable roof and even then, off season, it is covered over and closed.

We had booked a Dinner Bed and Breakfast package at a very reasonable price although it was clear we were one of just four bookings for the period. Dinner on the first night was a very acceptable four course meal which we accompanied with one of the wines off the wine list.

Breakfast was the usual large hotel offering with plenty of choice.

When we went to dinner on the second night the main restaurant, advertised on the hotels site as giving a sea view we found to be closed for a private function (Lions Group) and the restaurant on the ground floor was similarly booked for an event. We were thus expected to eat in a small ante room devoid of any soul or ambience. Having refused to eat here we requested and were offered a table in the corner of the main restarant and then treated to a simply sublime seven course meal of the chef's choice to whom we were introduced.

Without a shadow of a doubt this was the most delicious meal we ate throughout our ten day tour of Italy. ^

We needed the enjoyment of the hotel's complimentary bicycles to burn off the calories.

This is how to recover customer service and I can thoroughly recommend this hotel if you choose to go to Rimini.

- Value for or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Probably if we were likely to be in this area again 100 Euros DB&B was very good value for what we actually received.

NO!

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard room including breakfast

None provided; no club acces promoted

What was good and what was bad?

Good - Breakfast food and drinks

Bad - Location is far from Milan, you need a car to get of the airport (shuttle is provided to and from airport).
The lights in the corridors are bad; first time in a hotel I did not feel safe. Overall decor outside is very dated; inside is a bit better.
No upgrade or special attention for Platinum Members.
Review and feedback is not posted (I gave a 2/5 and return No).

Crowne Plaza Glasgow.

Booked a suite, got a suite on 11th Floor near clubroom which was good.

I dont know if larger suites are available or not. Great river view. No water in room. No additional amenities in lieu of no further upgrade. Clubroom here is too small for busy nights and gets crowded, but a nice room.

Would I stay again? Yes, but would hope hotel might do a little more to recognise Platinum.

An airport hotel is not supposed to be close to the city centre... But the airport! (and yes Malpensa airport is far from the city).

I like this hotel for quality of the room (very quiet, well designed) and the food.

What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum Royal Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked best advance rate with breakfast and was upgraded to a Junior Suite with balcony

How are the rooms?
Around 45sqm
Partially renovated. At the same time both original elegant design (glass and marble coffee table, wall lamp, heater screen) and some parts which are dated (chairs, table).
Comfortable bed (but addition of two single beds)
Pleasant seating area
Separate dressing
Tiny bathroom with bathtub. "Relax Refresh Revive - Dead Sea Minerals" amenities (I like the smell).
Separate toilets.
Bathrobe.
Flat screen television set with good selection of international channels.
No iPod desk.
Very quiet.
Balcony with view over the city.

How is the exec. lounge?
N/A

What was good and what was bad?

Good
- Friendly staff
- Very good breakfast with large choice of local products
- Central location (5 minutes walk from Central Station, with direct link to the airport)
- Bikes can be rented at the hotel (only EUR 5 a day)

Bad
- Not only wifi is not free (even for Platinums: EUR 16 a day), but it works VERY badly in the room (but quite good in the lobby). Fees have been waived at check-out (the lady said: "Yes, we know, it works very slowly in the rooms").

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Yes
The hotel is pleasant, but would need a soft renovation.

- What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Overall yes, though there were issues with wifi in the conferencing which made life difficult!

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a standard room got an upgrade to a Deluxe corner room.

- How are the rooms?
A good sized, light corner room. Amenities were fine, though no in room iron as indicated in the room literature.

- How is the exec. lounge?
N/A - didn't have access.

- What was good and what was bad?
It was a late arrival and an upgrade was still made available. Room was fine for 5 nights, comfortable and quiet in the corner of the hotel. Would've preferred one with a better view but given I spent little time there, wasn't really an issue. As noted above, they had serious wifi issues during the conference which didn't get addressed while I was there. Food was excellent and a great and extensive buffet breakfast.

Bathroom could do with a touch up, especially the bath.

- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Excellent given I booked using the 50% promo.

Holiday Inn Express - Zurich Airport

Holiday Inn Express - Zurich Airport

- What is your Priority Club status?

Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?

Yes.

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Standard room - two double beds. Upgrade n/a.

- How are the rooms?

Room was a bit small, but adequate. Nothing too special.

- How is the exec. lounge?

n/a

- What was good and what was bad?

Plat members received a free drink token, which was nice. I don't drink alcohol so I got a hot chocolate (I was thinking the Swiss would maybe do something like this right?), and it was super nasty. The morning breakfast was standard HIX. Airport shuttle is every half hour. Unlike most other HIX, internet costs money, but they provided free access for me as Plat.

I stayed here for an overnight airport layover, so was not here for long.

- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return? For Zurich it seemed like a good price for an overnight layover.

What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum (RA)

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Was okay.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Standard room, got Deluxe room.

How are the rooms?
Wide room with king size bed, working place with a chair like in a 1970s science fiction B-movie, and a sitting area with sofa and chair. In general the interior looked some kind of cheap.

How is the exec. lounge?
There is no.

Did you receive a welcome gift?
A bottle of water and a free drink (coffee, wine or small beer) at the bar.
When I ordered the free white wine, it came to my surprise together with free bread, sliced sausages, ham and one fried shrimp. I was told the food is part of the platinium service.

Good:
  • Very friendly and helpfull staff in all areas of the hotel.
  • Free WiFi for platinium guests. (But only the basic, read slow, package.

Bad:
  • Rooms interior design.
  • Minibar had only water and some juice, no beer, no Cola.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
The hotel is okay, but I am undecided whether I will return.

Yes.

Booked standard room got given standard room but on 6th floor.

- How are the rooms?
Nice. Not so large, but new, modern and clean. Beds are comfortable. Free internet.

- How is the exec. lounge?
N/A

- What was good and what was bad?
No platinum recognition, staff general not trained well. Good rooms comparing with other 4 * hotels in Genoa. Location is not central, it is accross cruiser port but only 3 min walk to metro station. Nothing to do in evening in the area.

- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Paid 70 incl. breakfast that I found as good deal. Yes if on this price.

Yes, I felt really good there.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest single room, got upgraded to a junior suite.

How are the rooms?
Wide room, separated in the middle by mini-bar, TV-table and working desk. Tube TV, a kind of baroque style furniture.

How is the exec. lounge?
There is no.

Did you receive a welcome gift?
Two apples and a bottle of water, accompanied by a few handwritten lines from the manager.

Good:
  • The staff at the reception, in the bar and beer keller are great. All friendly, even remembering my name immediately, and more helpfull then expected.
  • Free WiFi for platinium guests.

Bad:
  • Pool is too small for real swimming.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Nice hotel I can recommend, I will return there next time in Salzburg.
Stayed there 6 weeks later again. Same experience.
Addition to the bad category:The breakfast is to expensive for the quality offered.

FWIW there is a nice pizza joint around the corner, Agnelli if I recall, and it is only a 10-15 minute walk to the old city where you can find lots of interesting places.

And I'm surprised you didn't get a suite upgrade. I always do at this hotel.

Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
More or less. Location great, room marginal.

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
I booked a standard room queen and a standard room with 2 twins. No upgrades. Twin room larger with sofa.

- How are the rooms?
Small but this is old Paris. Queen room had shower, twin had bathtub.

- How is the exec. lounge?
There isn't one.

- What was good and what was bad?
Good - FD staff was great, very friendly and very helpful like a concierge, great views of city from rooftop (rooftop bar closed except during summer) could see ND and Eiffel Tower, 500 ft. From ND Metro stop.
Bad - Room had musty Oder, too lazy to change - left card in room switch so A/C would stay on. Internet slow (but free for Plat), breakfast pricey €20 PP. no newspaper at room, no room service.

- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Used points was OK value but rack rate was €330
Would return for location.

Crowne Plaza Downtown Dallas

- What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
I was satisfied despite many negative reviews I had read online.

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
I booked a standard king and received an upgrade to a balcony king.

- How are the rooms?
The room was fine and clean. It felt large enough. There were enough TV channels to occupy me in the evening. The balcony was alright, nice enough to go out onto in the early morning before it got too hot.

- How is the exec. lounge?
N/A - if there was one, I didn't venture.

- What was good and what was bad?

The Good
  • Clean Room
  • Comfortable Bed
  • Self Parking with In/Out Privilages
  • Direct access from the Parking Garage to the elevator and my floor without going through the lobby.
  • The upgrade & cookies provided.
  • Maid service acknowledged my DND sign all weekend.
  • Allows pets - had a furry one with me and the misses.

The Bad
  • Small bathroom
  • Building doubles as a night club. It is rowdy downstairs in the evenings.
  • Because there is a night club in the building, parking was tough to come by late night and there were beer bottles and broken glass everywhere.
  • A/C did not keep as cold as I would have liked. Struggled to reach 70 F. My Norwegian blood requires at least 65 F at night.

- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Value was alright for downtown Dallas. After parking ($14/night), pet fee ($25/night) and tax - all combined I paid ~$136/night using the AAA rate (which was something like $84/night room only). I read some awful reviews about this place, but I was satisfied even with my "bad" list and would return*.

*only because the furball with us and needed a hotel that took pets. I probably wouldn't return to this location otherwise if I could get a better deal elsewhere and we are without our pet.
