Acronym help sheet?

I am just starting to read more detailed posts within the Airline mileage forums and there are lots of acronyms I am not familiar with. I looked in the New Member section and I don't see a list.
I am seeing airlines (i think airlines) called:
OZ and SQ etc etc

Is there a cheat sheet?

Indeed, they are official codes for airlines.

There is a glossary here:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/glossary.php

Also accessible under the "Help" link at the top of the website.

It's not going to include every possible thing of course but is a start. It does include an airport code lookup.

Often it can be just as easy to google airline and airport codes, though...and sometimes other terms, too, for that matter.

Scroll down to the very bottom of this page (or any forum page on FT). In perhaps light blue on light grey (thus likely not "jumping out at you" if you don't know to look for it there), you should see a Glossary link and an Airport Code Lookup link (to the right of Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy).

Or, if you hover on HELP at the very top of each page, you should see a dropdown menu, and one of the items on the dropdown menu is Glossary and another is Airport Code Lookup.

Start with the sticky threads....

Sticky threads are always a good starting point when browsing a new forum or site.

If you check out this sticky thread, you shall see links to different pointers on FT:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/infor...faqs-more.html

Don't forget to read the wikipost at the very top of said thread. Right under the Getting the Most Out of FlyerTalk section, the link to FT Glossary was provided. Study this other thread if you don't get how wikiposts work on FT:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/techn...solidated.html

There's no way to have a catch-all list, no matter where you look. If you are looking for airline/forum-specific acronyms, you better ask in that designated forum. This sticky thread shall keep you up with the structure of FT so you'll know where better to look or ask for info:

Welcome to FT!

Don't worry, it starts to make sense pretty quickly, even if it seems like a foreign language at first.
