Hi all, long time lurker, have finally registered as flying more and more these days so I can hopefully contribute!

James, checking in. Been lurking for quite a while, but slowly working myself into the game and figured I'd actually sign up. I'm interested in budget travel because I love travel (and prioritize my spending on it), but will inevitably have a very limited income. Just here hoping to earn my stripes!

Hey everyone,

I'm Joe - new to these forums although have come across them when searching for answers to do with mileage schemes, etc.

Main reason for joining really is I'd quite like to join the aviation industry as a graduate after Uni - especially looking at the BA grad scheme.

I am currently living very close to Heathrow (luckily not on the flight path) due to a 12-month internship!

Whilst I'm not especially interested in the planes themselves in terms of if it's an Airbus/Boeing or the like, I am interested in the interiors of the planes and on-board services - which might seem a little odd... but hey ho.

As for flying in my 21 years of living, I have 2 parents who like to travel! I've been as far as Brisbane, Australia and quite a few places inbetween - mostly with different airlines in fact.

Mileage schemes: well, I'm a student so price/flight length is my absolute priority at the moment so don't really have the ability to stick with one airline 'regardless of cost', however I've joined British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Aeroflot.

My next flight is an Aeroflot via Moscow to Guangzhou in China where I'll spend 2 months with my girlfriend, travelling in the cattle class. Last two times going to China having flown BA/China Eastern to Shanghai via Rome and more recently Air China to Kunming via Beijing - the day the MH370 went missing and at the same time of the knife attacks in Kunming station... but I'm here :)

So my main motive here is to learn about the industry and possibly pick up some good deals for future travel.

I also have a very strange ambition (albeit not setting the bar too high!) that I want to travel in Business before I'm 25. Long-haul business, of course. [see separate thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/infor...-age-25-a.html]

Would be cool to hear some other people's travel ambitions, too!

I have been reading these forums for quite some time but finally decided to get in on the conversation. I'm a student at the University of Michigan and my main goal at this point is to achieve medallion status on Delta. Although SkyMiles is far from the best loyalty program, I fly most often from Detroit, Delta's second largest hub and therefore almost exclusively on Delta. I think it would be very nice to start getting some real rewards for my travel. Upcoming trips include Houston, San Francisco, London, and Las Vegas.

I have been traveling as a consultant and I just stumbled across Flyer Talk while searching for ideas on the best luggage to buy. I have quickly learned functionality before anything else. I'm a long time lurker and a new member. Traveled a fair amount back in the 80's & early 90's to Europe and now am getting back into it with my husband and 2 children. I was a pretty savvy traveler back then before the internet but finding now there is a huge learning curve...but am enjoying the whole process. We have our first international trip in August to Crete (I know Crete in August...crazy...but not a lot of flexibility in the calendar). All paid for with points so far, thank you very much!

Looking forward to flattening out the learning curve!

Although I've posted quite a bit in the past month, I just found this thread today :). I'm here as I'm obsessed with flying, although I don't get to fly a lot :(, and I want to help solve the MH370 mystery with some of the rest of you on the speculation thread, sitting at my desk over 9,000 miles away in Boston. I originally wanted to join A.net but I came here instead because I wanted to post on the forums but I'd have to pay on A.net. Look for a trip report in the next few months about my trip to India through DXB in Y. It will be the first one on FT and A.net about BOS-DXB on Emirates' B77L service.

I have a question though - how do I edit my signature? I can't find it on MyFT.

Always got a lot of useful info from this site, so am happy to join!
