"Deboarding may not be allowed" on long layover Indigo?

I'm looking to fly IXU-CMB. Since there is no non-stop, the route option I prefer is IXU-BOM-CMB on Indigo with an overnight layover in BOM. I thought that after the IXU-BOM segment (upon arrival in BOM) I would be able to exit the airport, stay at a nearby hotel, and then return to BOM airport the next morning for the BOM-CMB segment. However, on Indigo's site in the flight details, it shows "Note: De-boarding may not be allowed". What does this mean?

Do I need to buy IXU-BOM separately from BOM-CMB? It works out more expensive that way.

No one will stop you if you walk out of the terminal when you arrive in BOM. Officially transit pax are not supposed to leave the airport so the airline will never allow this publicly

I've exited the airport multiple times in between connecting flights. No one will stop you.

Using an old thread to ask a question. I'm flying Delhi to Istanbul (Indigo) and Istanbul to New York (Turkish Airlines). Its a code share. There is a 20hr layover in Turkey - What does "deboarding not allowed" mean (see screenshot)? Am I allowed to leave the airport to see the city (assuming I have visa etc). I called Indigo and they gave me a mixed message - you cannot leave the airport but maybe you can talk to the airline officials. Has anyone tried this? I'll be with a 4 year old kid, so definitely don't want to spend 20 hrs in Turkey airport! There is no info on the Indigo or Turkish Airways website

Indigo Delhi to New York (via Istanbul) - Can I go outside the airport?

I'm flying DEL-IST-JFK via indigo codeshare. The flight is from Delhi to Istanbul (Indigo) and Istanbul to New York (Turkish Airlines). There is a 20hr layover in Istanbul/Turkey - What does "deboarding not allowed" mean (see screenshot)? Am I allowed to leave the airport to see the city (assuming I have visa etc). I called Indigo and they gave me a mixed message - you cannot leave the airport but maybe you can talk to the airline officials. Has anyone tried this? I'll be with a 4 year old kid, so definitely don't want to spend 20 hrs in Turkey airport! There is no clear info on the Indigo or Turkish Airways website.

Yes, on arrival in IST, just follow the arrivals/passport control signage instead of the connecting flight signage.

Given its an overnight layover, you might also want to get a room in an airport hotel nearby.

Haven't flown the combination of Indigo & Turkish on this route but I have flown DEL-IST-JFK & AUH-IST-JFK on TK a number of times & have even left the airport at IST on a couple of occasions.

No airline will tell you that you have the ability to leave the airport during a layover but I don't think anyone is going to stop you from doing so.

Have you checked TK's hotel policy? I'm not sure 6E qualifies though...

This is late, but yes, you absolutely can exit both Mumbai and Istanbul in the above situations, speaking from personal experience. Baggage will continue on your flights as usual, as long as the layover is under 24 hours, there is no need to pick up/recheck the bags. Any free hotel or tour (StopoverIstanbul or TourIstanbul) is only valid on Turkish Airways tickets, not on Indigo tickets starting with 3.
