Any complaints process for GoAir Delay

hi
Last Friday I was scheduled to travel from Pune to Chennai in GoAir at 11 PM. Flight got delayed more than 4 hrs without proper reason. They just said due to weather and they are bringing flights from Mumbai, Ahmadabad and Chennai.

finally at 2.30 AM they have arranged a flight. Is this normal with GoAir...

what is the complaints process in goair. I sent a note in their contact page but no response yet.

can we complain to DGCA about this and will DGCA take any complaints...

since this is the first time i have flown GoAir, would like to check here.

The DGCA policy regarding delays is as follows:

"The airlines shall provide facilities in accordance with Para 3.6.1 (a) if the
passenger has checked in on time, and if the airline expects a delay beyond
its original announced scheduled time of departure or a revised time of
departure of:
a) 2 hours or more in case of flights having a block time of up to 2 hrs;
or
b) 3 hours or more in case of flights having a block time of more than 2
hrs and up to 5 hours; or
c) 4 hours or more in case of flights not falling under sub-para (a) and (b)

3.6.1 Passengers shall be offered free of charge the following:
a) Meals and refreshments in relation to waiting time.
b) Hotel Accommodation when necessary (including transfers).
"

Apart from this, I do not think they'll offer you a monetary compensation for any delays or damages.

Who / what airlines in India cares about DGCA rules?

I have seen enough flights on Jet & AI which were delayed atleast by 3 hours (or more) and the staff won't even tell people what gate/time, leave alone accommodation / food.

Last was a Jet airways flight DEL-BLR (I think the departure time was about 9:35 pm).
  • I left lounge at 9:05 pm coz the flight was showing on time.
  • Got to the gate (9:15) and boarding hasn't started
  • Asked the guy and he said that the plane is being readied and will depart for BLR at 10 (boarding in a few mins)
  • 9:50 pm, they announced that the departure gate has changed and time has also changed to 11:15
  • Everyone waits at new gate and no new announcement until 11:30 pm or so (the gate still says departure time at 11:15)
  • Passengers start getting cranky and make noise and start arguing with Jet GAs
  • Answer the plane will start from Jaipur in a few minutes (they said the same at 10 pm) and will depart by 12:15 (Jaipur-DEL is about 50 mins + atleast 20 mins to get it ready, so another shameless lie)
  • They also claimed that they announced about food a few times (unfortunately apparently every passenger was deaf and no one knew about it). Guess the book keeping was taken care of by saying we provided food
  • Passengers request for accommodation was declined saying we can't/won't do that (they did tell us that we can get accommodation as we are connecting from intl.)

The flight finally took off at about 1:15 am

My bad - just read that this was last friday and not last night.

Just so you know, last night around 8PM there was a Hawker 900XP which broke a nosewheel on the runway and airport services were able to move the aircraft only around 11PM. A lot of flights into Chennai were delayed last night. Chennai NOTAM: RWY07/25 BLOCKED DUE DISABLED ACFT

Spicejet's Mess

Received email few weeks before departure stating SG DXB-AMD direct flight rescheduled by several hours due to OPR reasons, offered INVOL rebooking for AMD via BOM.

Now starts the fun: 0400HRS Dep. from DXB rescheduled by 1.15 hr due to late arrival of incoming aircraft. Boarding commences at 04:45 but suspended, stating technical problem with aircraft. 2 hours pass by, aircraft taken away from gate, and all displays & personnel disappear from vicinity.

Rumours aloof stating SG has not cleared its airport dues, etc....

Finally, aircraft takes off at 0830HRS and lands BOM 5 HRS late and to discover BOM-AMD flight leg cancelled. Purchase first available flight ticket for AMD and reach hours later.

Imagine plight of pax who had DXB exit stamps on their passport & nowhere to go, and also getting stuck in BOM missing onward connections.

Wonder, why UAE authorities have allowed such an irresponsible carrier to fly there....

Of the last 56 SG14, 43 were on time

http://www.flightstats.com/go/Flight...irportCode=BOM

SG635 on the other hand is usually always delayed (13 of 56): http://www.flightstats.com/go/Flight...irportCode=AMD

SG16 DXB-AMD is even worse (45% excessive delays, avg delay 160 min):
http://www.flightstats.com/go/Flight...irportCode=AMD

Question is why do consumers purchase tickets on such carriers. I do hope that they come at a significant discount.

Hi,
My name is XXX I had GoAir flight G8-171 from DELHI at 18:20 hrs on 20 Oct 2017 Terminal 1D. PNR : XXXXXX
It costed me 3512 INR), I reached at the counter at 5:39 pm due to Delhi traffic otherwise I would be there at least 2 hrs back. Still GoAir denied me to give boarding pass, and I pleaded, requested and tried to convince them that I still have 45 mins, and it's very urgent me to reach Pune, as next day I had International flight( on 21st from Pune). But they didnt listen to me and denied for boarding pass and forced me to take another ticket for next flight and I was stranded, I couldn't go back, I had no option except to get my ticket transferred for next flight (G8 175). For doing so, they again charged 3250 INR as transfer fee.
Just because of GoAir official's negligence, adamant and inappropriate behavior I had to pay two times , 3512 + 3250 = 6762, was total cost to me for just one way flight from Delhi to Pune. Your representative even don't bother to listen to me with courtesy and in helping voice or assistance.
It' we people because of which you stand in market, if you don't treat us well, you will be gone.
I want complete refund of it. Let me keep you very straight, If I don't get the refund, I have all proofs, will file case in consumer court as well if needed if justice is not done. I still have boarding pass and ticket to take this forward.
This was my first and last flight with you , and will not be choice of flight in my entire community , foes, folks and entire social network I have , entire office network that I have and wherever I can spread this incident as an eye opener repeatedly in my entire life span. Truth will prevail for sure everywhere.

You should realize that this is an independent forum and GoAir does not monitor this and wouldn't be doing anything unless you write to them directly.

For a 1820 departure, 5.39pm is actually 41 minutes.
