had a bad experience at hyd last week....i asked about a paid upgrade for my colleague who was traveling with me....

i knew that there were 3 seats available in business when we got to the airport....the check-in agent got on the phone with someone & then refused, first saying that there were no seats available....when i told her that i knew for a fact that there were 3 seats available then she said something about those seats being reserved for someone....

i think one went to a pilot & the other 2 went to these 2 gentlemen who worked in the telengana home ministry's office....i struck up a conversation with one of them who was sitting next to me & he said they always get upgraded for free at the airport....

UPDATED with Post from AI-FR page: http://www.flyingreturns.co.in/html/imp_update.php

Earn Minimum 500* miles per flight

Flying Returns members will now earn minimum 500 Miles per flight activity. This will enable frequent flyers travelling between short haul routes to earn more number of miles and reach Premium Status faster.

All Air India flights with less than 500 Ticketed Point Mileage (TPM) will earn 500 minimum miles thus offering more value in return to our valued members.

For Example: FR members travelling on Delhi – Jaipur route currently accrue 145 Miles whereas in new structure, FR members will accrue 500 Miles.

* Tickets purchased on U, T, S, E (Fares) will accrue 250 Miles, i.e. 50% of minimum miles (500TPM).

New accrual structure for "Flying Returns" members travelling on Air India flights (Accrual as % of base miles):

First Class:
F, A 250 %

Business Class:
C, D,J, Z (200 %)

Economy Class:
Y, B, M, H, K, Q, V, W, G (100 %)
L, U, T, S, E (50%)

Updated the Wiki with contact info with regards to non-receipt of Membership Kit.

From the info I have, it seems it takes about a month to receive the kit after the change of Tier on thier systems.

I am facing some technical issue due to which i am unable to redeem award tickets through Air India website. Inspite correct userid and password, i get an error message 'your attempt to login was unsucessful. Please contact support.' At the same time, the web page correctly shows me my Flying Returns points and Tier.

Have tried to contact Air India contact center, ICLP Loyalty and Ecommerce departments but no resolutions at all. Any one else facing a similar issue or is there any guidance once can provide. Thanks in advance.

Note: I am a golden edge member and am able to successfully book awards tickets through their call center.

Fortunately, I got a response from AI e-commerce team who have corrected the issue. You may try to contact [email protected] with a copy to [email protected].

In my case, after calling to several departments, i got the number of web-section which helped. You may also try to reach out to them (web-section) on 011-24624074/75. Although they will try to wriggle out by referring to another department, but a little push will help.

Not sure what was the issue. The web team personnel said it was a password setting issue internally at AI which they have resolved now. The issue is resolved now.

Their website says that you can combine miles with your spouse. https://www.flyingreturns.co.in/html/rd_topup.php

In both mine and my wife's accounts, there is a field for adding spouse's FFP # (update profile) but the field is greyed out. I wrote to [email protected] to link our accounts but no one replied back.

Has anyone done this before? Thanks
