Mileage run on 9W

I was fiddling around at http://matrix.itasoftware.com. With flight count targets (esp in domestic Y) seemed to be easier to get as opposed to miles for status, what if one did a route like this:

This is MAA-DEL-JAI-BOM-BLR. Of course, it takes you 16 hours do what's otherwise 45 min. but hey, that's why these are MRs Can't one earn 4 flight counts as opposed to 1? And the fare is INR 3979!

Code:
Fare (A1):	9W MAA==>JAI W2A14CPP fare (rules) ,  psgr type ADT	INR 400
Fare (B1):	9W JAI==>BLR W2A14CPP fare (rules) ,  psgr type ADT	INR 650
Tax:	9W YQ surcharge	INR 2700
Tax:	Indian Passenger Service Fee	INR 229
Total for 1 adult passenger:	INR 3979
(as of Wednesday, April 21, 2010 10:18am; fares loaded Wednesday, April 21, 2010 8:00am)
Fare construction (sometimes useful to travel agents):
     	MAA 9W X/DEL 9W X/JAI 400W2A14CPP 9W X/BOM 9W BLR 650W2A14CPP INR 1050 END XT 229WO 2700YQ
Any body try this before?

Thats cheaky and extremley harsh.

Interestingly when i price up lhr-bom-hkg, it states that miles earned are just over 14K which is taking into account 4 flights (LHR-BOM, BOM-HKG, HKG, BOM and BOM-LHR) so why do they count DEL-BRU, BRU-JFK as one flight even though you are taking connecting flights with different flight numbers?

I've flown JFK-BRU-DEL and they credited as separate flights.

On a related note, what would be the cheapest domestic route in premiere? DEL-IXC comes in at around 10k in Premiere. Any other route that is cheaper?

I don't think so, as long as different sectors represented by unique flight numbers are involved. However, routes like MAA-BRU-JFK or MAA-BLR-PNQ are marketed as a single MAA-JFK or MAA-PNQ flight, so in spite of the stop, it is only credited as one flight. I've managed to work around this by taking MAA-BRU one day before BRU-JFK, and MAA-BLR on the previous flight that day. This way, I've got 2 flight credits.

+1
MAA-PNQ (via BLR) has no plane change and hence counted as 1 flight. But MAA-IXU via BOM had a plane change and counted as 2.

Not domestic, but almost: CCU-DAC-CCU can be done in Premiere for about 10k round trip. Not bad, considering that it earns 6 points.

because you have tecnically bought one sector....if you stop at brussels for a day or more than your ticket price will increase....this way its 2 sectors....

very lucky....not for me....they show the miles earned seperately but the flight count is not for 2 flights....

as i said before, if you have a layover that lasts a day or more then it will count for 2 flights....

Yes, but that's a planned layover. I've found that sometimes (not often enough, though), you get the same fare as you would have without that layover, as long as you book it as a multi-segment, rather than as 2 separate segments.

But you have not bought one sector......DEL-BRU continues onto YYZ and BRU-JFK originates in MAA....so you are actually taking 2 separate flights which connect in BRU so you should get 2 sectors......

.....unless i have missed something then please do correct me

the base fare would be the same....i think its the taxes that increase the fare....

i agree that you can make a number of connections from bru, but that doesn't change the fact that you have still bought one ticket....

It is possible to do it as a turn around, the flight arrives into Dhaka at 02.20 and departs at 1600hrs but do you really want to spend 8 hours stuck in Zia internation airport with bangladeshi hospitality for measly 292 miles and a 45 minute flight each way.

Im sure there are better options to get similar tier points but a lot more miles for slightly more than 10K.

how about that????i just called jet & it turns out that this would count as 2 sectors....

so now they are going to review my account & credit extra tier points for such flights where i have only earned one flight count....

i would suggest anyone taking a connecting flight to check whether they have been credited with their flight counts correctly....
