- Login problems: If you have trouble logging into the Iberia website, type in your number and password by hand instead of using autocomplete. For some people this fixes login issues.
- Partner awards: Many flights on partners will not be available as one-way. You must redeem AA flights as a round trip for example
- Cancellations: Iberia awards on AA cannot be cancelled.

The only reason new IB users are so vocal is because they represent alot of the people waiting on points. Anyone waiting on points should be equally upset. IB shouldn't have credited points until they were ready to credit them all.

As we have seen new accounts (at least one) getting Avios, I will make a wild guess here:
New accounts, and booked when the account creation was "pending" (IB+ number in confirmation email, but not in ticketed reservation) = account locked + no avios yet
New accounts, tickets booked 24-48 hours later once account creation completed (IB+ number in confirmation email as well as in ticketed reservation) = account locked + avios posted

FWIW, mine were bought in US on US website.
I assume they are batch processing these but without knowing anything beyond FT handles, it's impossible to know if it's random or a logical sequence (e.g., last names, account numbers, etc.)

They owe it to their loyal customers, first and foremost.
Then to those who legitimately acquired points but are not prospective customers.
Iberia owes you Avios. That's the deal.
In what order they assign the Avios, etc....that's their decision.

Yup, I've reset my Pin 5 times, never works for the second time into the account. I know my miles have posted. I've sent in the forms, based on other customer service experiences, I'll have to escalate it to the facebook team. Luckily, I'm not booking until September.

Yup, and they can do that however they see fit.
It's just plain common sense to allocate them first to those who had accounts prior to the promotion, and then to those who opened accounts to take advantage of it. It's a commercial decision and as long as they award the Avios to those who purchased tickets, they've fulfilled their end of the bargain.
You're getting what you paid for. The fact that others are getting them first is irrelevant. If that upsets you, then don't give them your business. They know which passengers account for most of their revenue - those are the people they need to keep happy. But you're getting what you were promised.

I totally understand that they need to weed out the fake accounts people set up for their dogs. But literally on June 25 they could have sent out a uniform, generic email to all new accounts that they would need to provide passport photos to match. They could have been working on the validation process for nearly a week now, rather than having to focus on it at the exact same time they are actually distributing the Avios. Yes, the demand was unexpected. But they knew that the moment the promo period ended and could have gotten to work right then and there on processing the backlog.
I feel bad for those who aren't in the know by keeping up with FT/current blogs. How are they supposed to know what to expect/how to proceed if Iberia isn't taking the initiative to communicate?
