Update in Hyatt BRG policy (April 2019): If your BRG claim is approved, you can choose either 5,000 World of Hyatt points or an additional 20% off the matched rate for your stay (defined as consecutive nights at the same location). Rates available on websites that require membership which is free of charge, or where membership is automatically created as part of the booking, are eligible for BRG claims.

Update in Hyatt BRG policy (July 2017): if your BRG claim is approved, Hyatt will match the comparable lower rate, but will no longer offer a further 20% discount on the matched lower rate. Instead, after your stay on the BRG approved rate, you will receive a US$50 credit (or equivalent amount in the currency of your country of residence) to use on a future stay (completed within 12 months) booked on a Standard Rate, Advance Purchase Rate or Member Rate on Hyatt.com.
Q. How do I receive the $50 credit?
A. About 3-4 days after your BRG stay, Hyatt will email you a unique rate code to apply for your new reservation. You can either click on the link in the mail to book the reservation or manually enter it into the booking at Hyatt.com.
Q. Can I use the code more than once?
A. No. The code is invalid when it has already been attached to a reservation.
Q. Can I use the code to lower a rate like AAA or Double Points?
A. No. The BRG code books into its own unique rate class and can't be used with any other promotional rates.
Q. What happens if I cancel my reservation with the BRG code applied?
A. The code will can be re-used for another reservation. For this reason, DO NOT DELETE THE EMAIL FROM HYATT UNTIL AFTER YOUR STAY.
Q. What happens if a lower base rate appears available after I book the BRG rate?
A. You can cancel the first reservation (assuming there's no penalty) and then rebook using the code for the lower rate.

If you are dissatisfied with the response to your BRG claim, and it was processed by the Hyatt Service Desk in Omaha (9805 Q Street), you can consider filing a consumer complaint (link to online form) with the Nebraska Attorney General's Office (Consumer Protection Division). Note that the online complaint form requires you to fill in a correspondence address in the US (though you can state a preference to receive correspondence by e-mail rather than by post). As reported in Post # 2691, if the AG's Office decides to investigate, it is possible that Hyatt will review your BRG claim again and, in addition, offer points for the inconvenience.
If your BRG claim was processed by the Hyatt Service Desk in Marion (1120 North Carbon Street Suite 70), you can consider filing a consumer complaint (link to online form) with the Illinois Attorney General's Office.

So I called to cancel a separate booking for a 7K/ night Club Room for 2 nights. Had to call the hotel to do it -- couldn't do it online. Confirmed my BRG club room reservation at the same time.
Now I see my BRG Club Room description as "King Room" only.... Looks like they may have changed the room type to standard king room, no club.
Wondering if this hotel has any experience with BRG or will I have to fight at check in?
Any experiences with hotels refusing to acknowledge BRG reservatuons?
Advice ?
I do have original confirmations with Club Room bookings written -- breakfast, cocktails, etc.
Thanks

Exactly. Why not call customer service and have them reconfirm that it is a BRG for a club room, and then get a confirmation email that states "club room" just in case of any problems?

And for this price, I'm totally impressed with the hotel! It's gorgeous.

Updated the wiki for prestigia.com. Used it recently for a successful flexible BRG at IIRC the HR Dusseldorf.

Weird. I've done BRG for a certain hotel a couple of times. (Add days and price change made me rebook.) However, with this BRG, I can't cancel online. That option is gone from online. It says I have to call in and do it. I wonder why it's different. I have another booking at that same hotel and the option isn't there for that.

True. But €116 summer in Paris is a decent deal. Much better than paying twice the price to stay across the street at the LM which is a really nice hotel or 3-4 times more at other Hyatts/Starwoods in Paris.

So I did a BRG for a Hyatt Place with 2 queens, high floor. It's quite common for Hyatt Place's to put high floors at a higher rate and in my case, before BRG, it was $20/night more. I specifically wanted a high floor and that's why I waited out to see if the price would go down. I ended up finding a rate for the HR queen that was the same as a regular queen. Thus in the end, of course, it was lower.
However, when I got the hotel, late check-in, there were no more high floors. I was quite upset about this since I specifically booked a high floor. I'm curious if I should complain about it or just leave it be since I got such a great BRG (that I wouldn't have gotten if the rate hadn't originally been $20 more.)

You booked a room from a certain category and got a room from a lower category. And these categories are priced differently on the hotel website. That's it. It could and should be grounds for a complaint, though I guess many experienced travellers - especially Hyatt fans with status - would not take action in such a case given the discounted rate and if the stay was otherwise good.
If you feel the room you got had a negative impact on your stay then by all means go ahead and tell Hyatt.

What i hate most about hyatt brg is, after your claim was approved, you need to call them to adjust the rate. Why cant they make it easier via email, ike spg or marriott? (No need to talk with agent)
BTW, Im not an english native speaker and live in asia.

Make an existing reservation at the refundable daily rate. BRG to that confirmation number. No phone call necessary.
