Bonus point for dining

I got a Platinum extras certificate with a new Platinum membership card today.
One of the choices on the certificate is 1000 Bonus points for dining

My questions are
Does it have to be only main meal for lunch or dinner?
What if breakfast or only appetizer or drink during lunch or dinner? The certificate t&c doesn't mention about it and when I spoke with GP CSR, he said it would work whatever I eat out there, but it's still not clear to me.
Do those kinds of food still work out to get the bonus credit onto my account?
Does anybody know it or have this experience?

Thanks.

I don't think that it has to be a "main" meal to qualify. However, you should be forewarned that this 1000 point bonus will most likely never post since the wait staff won't know what to do with it and it will probably get lost being shuffled around and you'll have to call in 4-6 weeks after to try to get it posted (which most likely will be readily).

I think that it is quite clear that having only a drink does not constitute dining, but there is no mention that one has to have a full multi course meal. Why not just order whatever it is you want to eat? GP will not deny you the 1,000 points anyway.

I agree that the certificate probably won`t post automatically- they never used to for me. It might be a good idea to make a photocopy of the certificate that you can fax in to CS if necessary.

I was thinking about using a Platinum Extra Cert for the Complimentary Food & Beverage Amenity at the Park Hyatt Zurich on a Chase free night - any idea what kind of Food & Beverage I should expect?

Probably one of the standard welcome amenities normally given to Diamonds. Might be a good idea to search the property thread to see what kind of amenities Diamonds have gotten.

Plat certs are earned after every 3rd stay when you are a Hyatt Platinum - see the FAQs sticky thread for more details.

Platinum Extras Award for Miles: Transfer Credit, Stay Credit or Something Else?

Would anyone happen to know (perhaps GP concierge?) how a Hyatt Platinum Extra Certificate for airline miles appears on a frequent flyer statement? Does it appear similar to a Hyatt to airline miles transfer (i.e. as if one were to convert 5,000 points to 2,000 miles)? Or does it get categorized as a stay that earns miles?

I ask because US Airways is doing their annual grand slam and many of the eligible "hits" involve mileage earning hotel activity. The catch is that US Airways differentiates between stay activity and transfer activity. Any insight would be much appreciated! Thanks!

I am facing the same situation. Bump in case any one know the answer from previous experience of redeeming Platinum Extra Award for US Dividend miles.

Not sure about US Airways, but they appear differently for American Airlines:

It shows HYATT TURNKEY DOUBLE/TRIPLE MILES for 500/1000 miles respectively and HYATT BONUS MILES for 1500 miles.

Points converted to miles show up as HYATT GOLD PASSPORT CONVERSION.

Not sure what shows up on American for hotel stays since I only take points with my stays.

Hope this helps!
