I was planning on staying here for 2 days in October 2024, but I'm considering trying for a different hotel chain and/or going back to the PH Kyoto and commute in.

If youre going to commute in from Kyoto, the Hyatt Place would probably be easier as I believe its closer to the rail lines you need for Osaka - but for only 2 days, just pick one of the other chains in Osaka. Marriott has a bunch of options from luxury to limited service.

It has the benefit for breakfast.

Theyre ineligible for suite upgrades YMMV. I received one at Caption Memphis.

Not having high hopes for this property, as it's showing in my Hyatt app as a "Category 1" property.....and I hope that's a typo.

Its listed as a category 1 in Hyatts catalog so not a typo. May do the last minute switch like HH Shibuya did from category 3 > 4 right before bookings opened though.

Actually Caption by Hyatt has a more limited globalist breakfast benefit than the traditional breakfast. They offer an elevated coffee and small plate.

They allow you to eat at Centric too. I never had issues surpassing the benefit.

Does "resuming operations" mean that the hotel was open for guests before??? I have never seen this hotel open for business. Or, is it an old hotel being renovated and rebranded as Caption?

The award calendar has it listed as a category 1: https://www.hyatt.com/explore-hotels...iritCode=osacp

It could definitely change, the Hyatt House Shibuya was initially listed as a category 3 but changed to 4 when reservations opened. But category 1 would definitely be an awesome deal!
