Caption by Hyatt Namba Osaka REVIEW - MASTER THREAD

Creating a dedicated thread for the upcoming Caption by Hyatt Namba Osaka now that the property page has appeared on Hyatt's directory at the attached link. The property will have 167 rooms, and is located at 2-7-5 Nippombashi, Chuo-ku.

When it opens early next year, this will be our only Hyatt option in Osaka following the departure of Hyatt Regency Osaka next month.

Bummer, just saw the HR Osaka is leaving Hyatt end of the month, while I will have a connection flights at KIX end of July... Hopefully, it will be a good alternative for my next visit to Osaka.

Great to hear that the Hyatt Regency Osaka will be replaced with a hotel that has a much better location.

Don't get too excited about a Caption if it'll be anything like the first one in Memphis (TN US).

It will probably be the best Caption in the world considering how Hyatts are done in Japan.

That would be a very low bar to clear. I've never been to Japan so no frame of reference.

Any idea when Hyatt will open up booking? (3 months before grand opening, 6 months out?)

It is still an active construction zone

I was in Namba a couple of days ago. The building is still an active construction zone. Here are some pictures.

Thank you for the update! Looks pretty bare-bones. How is Caption positioned? Basically a Moxy?

Spot on - industrial chic with compact rooms, limited service, F&B is essentially a spot where you can eat, grab-and-go or loaf around all day sipping on beer and working from a couch.

As per my sources, this one's opening in Q2 2024 so not too far away.

For a massive city with 12 Marriotts and 3 Hiltons that is also hosting Expo 2025, this Caption is not an effective footprint for Hyatt. Though, I guess it’s better than nothing.

It's a nice badge pickup for us in East Asia too.

From the outside...

...it looks like Toyoko Inn by Hyatt.
