Question for anyone with experience with combining points. Is it possible to transfer points from Hyatt member A, and then transfer to Hyatt member B, who then transfers the cumulative amount to Hyatt member C?

Also, can member B, after receiving from A, transfer immediately to C?

Thanks in advance.

I believe the rule is one transfer in or out every 30 days. Not sure if it is 1 in and 1 out but I think it's 1 total of either.

Thanks. So there isn't a limitation where the points that get transferred in cannot be transferred to another account, I presume? I'm aware that Citi Thank You has a restriction where one cannot transfer out points that were combined from a different account (in addition to the 90 day expiration).

Well technically transfers are allowed in order to complete a booking. In practice that is rarely enforced but they may raise an eye at an instant 3 way transfer.

Reached out to Hyatt and was informed:
A) 30 day window applies once a transfer occurs, regardless of direction.
B) Not an issue moving combined points to 3rd account but capped at 200k.

Any recent DPs for points transfer? Put in a request and it’s been 24 hours. Felt optimistic with DPs above but did a live chat and the agent said 72 hours to 4 weeks at discretion of WoH?!

This is not super recent but mine took about 3 days to post back in March. I had done a transfer between same two members before. Not sure if that makes a difference. I don’t think the live chat agents are very trained in transfer info. They just read from a script.

If the points are needed for an urgent rez then I’d call and say that. Maybe agent can help. They have done that for me before but it was a few years ago. I feel like the phone agents are more helpful than chat.

Hilton takes about 25 seconds online

I was shocked that, in 2024, I have to print a form, take a photo and email it... and then there is no way to check to see if they got it. I did it today and I hope it goes through quickly!

Speed isn’t necessarily Hyatt’s goal. Hyatt is certainly capable of instant transfers, just look at award gifting.

I think Hyatt is more concerned about fraud.

Turnaround time of under 24 hours, which is a speed record for me personally.

I emailed points transfer email and CCed the email of the other party in the transfer, so that all 3 parties received the completed form.

My experience has been usually under a week.
