World of Hyatt Credit Card benefit details and notes

Anniversary Free Night Award (Category 1-4)
  • Issued 10 weeks after cardmember anniversary date
  • Expires 1 year after issuance
  • Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
Additional Free Night Award (Category 1-4) with $15k spend
  • The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases during the current calendar year (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions).
  • The spend counter for this benefit resets at the beginning of every calendar year. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Two Additional Night Credits" spend counter below.
  • Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross $15k)
  • Expires 1 year after issuance
  • Ineligible for use with Club Lounge Access Awards and Complimentary Suite Upgrade Awards
  • Cardmembers are eligible for only 1 Additional Free Night Award per calendar year (e.g., spending $30k does not result in two Additional Free Night Awards
Two Additional Night Credits with every $5k spend
  • The spend counter for this benefit tracks total cumulative purchases since account opening (excluding $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions)
  • This spend counter never resets. Chase does not make this spend counter visible to customers, so interested customers must calculate their own. Note that this is a separate spend counter from the "Additional Free Night Award" spend counter above.
  • Issued 1-2 days after statement closing date of the triggering transaction (the transaction causing the spend counter to cross a multiple of $5k)
  • For World of Hyatt status qualification purposes, the night credits are associated with the TRANSACTION date of the triggering transaction, not the posting date and not the statement closing date. For example, triggering transactions on 12/31/2022 (transaction date) will result in 2 night credits for the 2022 status year, regardless of posting date or statement closing date. Based on FT reports, transaction date appears to be based on the US Eastern Time Zone.
  • World of Hyatt Credit Card: timing for $5k spend 2 qualifying nights
Other Benefits
  • 4 Bonus Points per $1 spent on purchases at Hyatt hotels
  • 2 Bonus Points per $1 spent on restaurants, airline tickets purchased directly from the airline, local transit and commuting, and fitness club and gym memberships
  • 1 Bonus Point per $1 spent on all other purchases
  • Discoverist status every year
  • 5 qualifying night credits every year
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Travel & purchase coverage

Other notes and tips

Chase spending tracker
  • The Chase spending tracker is useful for calculating your spend counter for the $15k Additional Free Night Award and your spend counter for the Two Additional Night Credits
  • Chase mobile app: "View all transactions", then switch to the "Spending Summary" tab
  • Chase website: From the main page, on the right hand side, click the "Spending & Budgeting" menu, then choose "Spending Summary"
  • Remember to add spend from prior calendar year(s) as needed (see spend counter notes above), and to subtract $95 annual fee and any other non-qualifying transactions from all years
  • Full list of non-qualifying transactions: returns, refunds, balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee

I can't explain the email, but I have 3 Chase cards and frequently see the same offers on 2 or 3 of the cards. I have the 10% back offer on my WoH card now, but have had it on my CSR and UA cards in the past.

Do you have any other offers available under the Hyatt card?

I received the same email, but with both the legacy Hyatt card and now the new WoH card, I've never been able to see any offers specifically attached to the Hyatt cards. I have several other Chase cards and can see various offers for every other card, but never anything for the Hyatt card, despite receiving emails like this from Hyatt.

I only grew frustrated trying to previously troubleshoot with both Chase and Hyatt, who bounce me from one to the other, so I've given up. Please do share if you get to the bottom of it.

I actually do have several offers showing available with my WOH card. Lowe's, RiteAid, Starbucks, etc. Strange that the Hyatt 10% off offer only shows available on my CSP. The email I received about the promo specifically mentioned the WOH card.

I'm seeing sort of the same issue as you with new WOH card accounts, except there seem to be no offers whatsoever.

This is true for me too. I never had any offers on the old Hyatt card, although I have various offers for other cards. And now I have the World of Hyatt card, again with no offers. I have previously received the e-mail for the old card, and just received the e-mail for the new card. I did get a 10% Hyatt offer on the CSR that I successfully redeemed.

I realize the wiki says "night credits are associated with the posting date of the triggering transaction " for purposes of earning the additional two elite nights for each $5000 of spend.

Does that mean that for year end transactions the transaction date is irrelevant, it is the posting date of the transaction that determines if the nights are allocated to the new year or the old year.

I have a number of Chase cards. As of right now, there are anywhere from 2-28 offers per card.

10% off Hyatt on Hyatt and CSR.

Not sure there is any way to figure out why you get what offers with a given card. Mine seems to be based on how much I use the specific card: the more use, the more offers.

I know there were a number of inquiries regarding the receipt of 10 elite nights if I one opened the new credit card late in 2020. So I decided to call Chase and received the following response to my inquiry. I redacted my name and credentials from the letter. Hope this helps clarify.

Saw this CC offer while booking a stay. There seem to be various Hyatt CC offers out there and not sure if there are better ones than this amongst them.
Also, this offer req a $95 annual fee thus the credit is just $105, not $200.

Earn a $200 statement credit
after your first purchase with the World of Hyatt Credit Card.
Plus, 1 free night at any category 1-7 hotel worldwide

I signed up for the Hyatt card (first time) in mid-December. Just got my 2021 10 elite night credit overnight. I do have a question about the allocation of 2 elite nights for each $5k spend. My new account closed on Jan 1 2021. I am assuming that elite night credits from spend will apply to 2021 and not 2020 (when the soend actually occurred). So assuming I am correct, when might the 2 elite nights for $5k cc spend show up?

AFAIK, its based on transaction date, not statement close date. So if you hit $5k with a transaction in 2020, your elite nights will be credited to 2020.

My 5 extra elite nights for the signup posted overnight, so I did get 10 total for 2021 as expected.
