I've used far more than 6 at one time. Years ago they had a promo where you got gift cards for stays (I think that was it), and also they sold discounted cards at Costco.
I recall one stay where I had about $2k worth - all in $50 increments. I brought them to the front desk a little at a time. Not because they wouldn't take them, but because I didn't want to stand there while they applied them all at once.

I'm a few nights short of "Globalist", do the free night certificates count as a night, or do I need to use cash plus points instead? I believe those still do qualify as an elite night.

Points + Cash nights do count toward status, but free (whether from the various certificates or points) do not.

night credit for second room?
I called World of Hyatt, and the representative informed me that booking two rooms for the same night at the same property will accrue only one night credit, not two. Is this correct? Thank you in advance!

that is correct. you will get the points for the 2nd room, but not the night credit. This applies also to booking 2 rooms in separate properties for the same night. Only 1 night credit.

It is correct and one of WOH's major failings. You can get points for both rooms but only 1 night of credit.

I see the following T&Cs re: the Hyatt Double Your Points rate:
Just to clarify, booking one of these rates
If so, I'm confused about what they mean by "Only Base Points are doubled"
All points awarded under this offer are Bonus Points. Only Base Points are doubled.
- WILL give me double award points
- WILL NOT get me double the points towards Lifetime Globalist status
If so, I'm confused about what they mean by "Only Base Points are doubled"

If you have elite status, you get additional elite status bonus points and they are effectively saying that bonus points are not doubled. (at least that's how I read it.)

I don't believe you can do C&P and then use points to upgrade to a club room, however, call, you never know

In order to redeem a Club Upgrade Award at a Hyatt resort, a Member must pay the Standard Rate for a minimum of a deluxe room (such as partial ocean view, ocean view, slope view, etc.). In order to redeem a Club Upgrade Award at a Hyatt hotel (that is not a resort), a Member must pay a minimum of the Standard Rate for a minimum of a standard room. Club Upgrade Awards are only valid for standard rooms with Club lounge access, as defined by the applicable hotel or resort.
